Skeeter asked as he walked into the kitchen of his wife's Upper East Side mansion. "Mr. Skeeter. You be gone all day," she said watching him open the refrigerator door and take out a beer before taking a seat on a barstool nearby. "Yeah, I found myself a place to open my store," he said as he popped the top on the beer can. "Oh. This very exciting news. I be much happy for you," she said in her broken English as she continued to peel vegetables at the kitchen sink. "I'm going to have the most successful lingerie store in Greenwich Village," he said watching the plump housekeeper's hips shake as she started to chop carrots on the cutting board. "This is very good," she said turning to glance at him and smile. "Maybe you'll model some of the lingerie for me," he said winking at her. "Oh Mr. Skeeter," she said blushing and turning away to avoid his eyes. The front door of the mansion opened. "Skeeter are you home?" Jan called out tossing her attaché case on the floor and taking off her sunglasses. "Yeah, in here," he called out as he heard her high heels walking down the hallway towards the kitchen. "I had a perfectly horrible day. My driver got tied up in traffic twice and my manicurist had her baby today," Jan said kissing her husband on the cheek and taking a seat on a barstool beside him. "Ilona make me a drink," Jan said glancing towards the housekeeper. "I'm sorry your day was so bad," Skeeter said watching Ilona put ice into Jan's glass and pour the liquor from the decanter. "Did you call Bob and talk to him?" Jan asked referring to her friend the owner of the lingerie company where Skeeter was employed. "Didn't get around to it today. Maybe you could call him tonight." "Me? It's your job Skeeter. You should call him. He's going to be angry. You haven't worked in a week now," she said taking a sip of the drink Ilona handed her. "I'll be working soon though." "Oh, you've finally got tired of lying around the house watching Ilona," she said watching the housekeeper's face redden. "No. I found my store today." "We could go look. How long before dinner Ilona?" Jan asked. "Only few more minutes," the housekeeper said as she continued to chop vegetables. "We'll go look after dinner," Jan said. "Okay. I have the key," Skeeter said taking the key from his pocket and placing it on the bar. "You have a key?" "Yeah, I have the key." "I thought you looked at a place. How did you get the key?" "I put some money down on it." "With that check I gave you this morning?" "Yes." "I told you not to do that Skeeter. I told you that I wanted to okay any property before you put money on it." "It would have been gone if I waited." "Bull!" she shouted. "It's true." "That's the oldest trick in the book. I told you I only gave you that check for emergencies not for the deposit!" she screamed. "It's too late." "No it's not. You haven't signed a lease." "Yes I did," he said getting up and slamming his fist on the bar. "I'm the one that's running this business not you. If you want to open a store then go right ahead. I don't want to hear anymore from you," he said tossing his beer can on the floor and walking towards the living room. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
