Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday August 19th 2003 "Manhattan Party Planning," Tiffany said as she held the phone to her chin and shuffled the papers on her desk. "Hi Tiffany, it's me," her sister Starlene said leaning back on the sofa and taking off her high heels. "Oh hi Starlene," Tiffany said dropping the papers on her desk and leaning back in her chair. "Did you go look at the apartment that was in the Village Herald?" "Yes. Matter of fact I put a deposit on it." "Oh wow. I didn't expect you to move so fast on getting a place," Starlene said surprised since her sister had only started looking at apartments this morning. "I hope I didn't make a mistake Starlene. It was such a nice apartment and the super said a couple was coming back to put money down on it so I had to move quickly." "Wow. I just can't believe this." "Yeah, I'm still reeling myself. I just couldn't pass it up though. It's a two bedroom newly renovated and the rent is really good." "Two bedrooms. So you still have room for me to come spend the night?" "Or move back in if things don't work out with you and Stanley." "That's great. But things seem good with us. I went to the luncheon with him today and it felt like we were married for the first time," she said leaning back on the sofa and watching the housekeeper dust the antiques in his living room. "That's great honey. But you never know until you walk down the aisle." "I know. Well, tell me have you called Amir and told him you're moving out of his apartment?" she asked referring to Tiffany's wealthy lover that lived on an island off the coast of Tonga. "No. Not yet, I just dread it. I mean I don't know what to do. I'm worried I made a mistake. Maybe I should have talked to Amir first." "Don't worry about it. He'll understand. You've waited for years for him and he's always unavailable. First it was his sick wife, now she's dead and he's busy taking care of her estate. Why should you wait so long." "Yeah, but we both know the truth is that I'm moving out because I want to see other men." "You should move Tiffany. You need a fresh start. I mean Brandon hasn't been around much either," she said referring to her sister's new lover that lives in California. "I guess you're right. I better go. I see Clark coming up the sidewalk and Alexis is with him." "Call me after they go upstairs," Starlene said hanging up the phone. "Tiffany, hi," Alexis said as she walked into the living room. "Hello Alexis. How are you?" Tiffany asked watching the beautiful middle aged woman walk into the living room and take a seat on the sofa as Clark took the mail from the mail box outside the door. "I'm good. Did you and Clark enjoy your lunch?" Tiffany asked. "Yeah, I think we got some things settled. I took him to my favorite little place in the East Village. We'll all have to go out to dinner one night," she said leaning back on the sofa and crossing her legs. Clark walked into the living room and placed the mail on the coffee table walking around the sofa to take a seat beside Alexis. "Tiffany would you get us a drink," Clark asked picking up the mail and glancing at the envelopes. "Sure," Tiffany said getting up from her desk and walking towards the kitchen. She pushed open the swinging door and glanced back to ask her boss what they would like to drink. She saw Alexis slide her hand over Clark's leg and kiss him on the cheek as he sorted through the mail. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
