Big River Opened July 24th 2003 through September 14th 2003 American Airlines Theatre, 227 West 42nd Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue; Tickets, Call 212-719-1300; $50, $75, & $90; Tue-Sat 8 PM; Wed, Sat, & Sun 2 PM; Tyrone Giordano, a deaf actor, as Huckleberry Finn. Dan Jenkins, who played Huck Finn in the original production, is the Narrator, Mark Twain. Huck escapes from his drunken Father and goes down the river in a boat. It is 1840. He meets up with a runaway slave, Jim. This Musical Revival is based on the classic novel by Mark Twain. Also featuring Michael Arden, Phyliis Frelich, Lyle Kanouse, Troy Kotsur, Michael McElroy, and Melissa Van Der Schiff. Settings: Ray Klausen; Music and Lyrics: Roger Miller; Costumes: David R. '30s Berlin decadence. This musical classic is one of the longest running revivals in Broadway history. Dark Wednesday.
The Caretaker Previews October 24th; Opens November 9th 2003 American Airlines Theatre, 227 West 42nd Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue; Tickets, Call 212-719-1300; Roundabout Theatre Company, Artistic Director Todd Haimes, presents a new Broadway production. "The Caretaker" is Harold Pinter's drama starring Patrick Stewart as "Davies", Kyle MacLachlan as "Aston", and Aiden Gillen as "Mick". Directed by David Jones, "The Caretaker" is a story of power games played between Mick and his vulnerable brother Aston. This turns sinister when Aston brings a tramp, Davies, home to their place. As they strive to manipulate the tramp, their weaknesses are exposed in this dark comedy.
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof Previews October 9th 2003; Opens November 2nd 2003 Music Box Theatre, Tickets 239 West 45th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue; The 1955 Pulitzer Prize Winning Play by Tennessee Williams presented by Bill Kenwright. Directed by Anthony Page. Ashley Judd as "Maggie", and Ned Beatty as "Big Daddy" may be starring in these most famous roles. "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" originally opened on March 24th 1955 at the Morosco Theatre with Barbara Bel Geddes, Ben Gazzara, Mildred Dunnock, Burl Ives, Madeleine Sherwood, and Pat Hingle.
