CASTING! BECOME A STAR ON THIS INTERACTIVE SOAP OPERA. SEND YOUR PHOTO, CLICK FOR DETAILS! Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday August 6th 2003 Skeeter crushed his beer can and put it on the coffee table and leaned back on the sofa to watch the Jerry Springer show on TV. He heard the phone ring and Ilona the housekeeper quickly answered in the kitchen nearby. "Mister Skeeter phone call for you," she called out from the kitchen. "Thanks Ilona. Bring me another beer would you?" he called out in his southern accent. "Yes Mister Skeeter," she said in her broken English opening the door to the refrigerator and taking out another beer. "Hello," Skeeter said as he held the phone and put his feet up on Jan's antique coffee table. "Skeeter are you busy right now?" Stanley asked as he gazed out of his office window in the Empire State Building. "Not too bad." "I wanted to talk to you." "Well shoot," Skeeter said winking at Jan's plump housekeeper as she handed him another beer. He watched her face redden as she smiled at him. She pulled her apron down over her broad hips as she left to go back towards the kitchen. "It's about your job," Stanley said. "What have you got to do with my job?" "How is your job?" "It's going okay," he said thinking about the fact he hadn't gone out on sales calls in two days. "Aren't you supposed to be working now?" "Is that why you called me? To check up on my schedule?" he said hotly. "Don't be so damn defensive." "Well, why did you call me?" "Look I want to help you out." "I'm doing just fine, thank you," Skeeter said noticing that Ilona was standing in the doorway watching him. "You could do better though." "Get to the point Stanley." "How would you like your own business?" "I'm trying to get Jan to set me up," Skeeter said referring to his new bride and Stanley's only daughter. "I know. But you know she's not sure. I don't think she'll ever do it because she's afraid you would have everything you want and leave her," Stanley said. "So why bring it up then? "What if I could get you into a space on Fifth Avenue?" "Why would you do that?" "For a deal." "What kind of deal Stanley?" "You divorce my daughter and I'll put you in business." "All I have to do is divorce Jan and you'll put me in business," Skeeter repeated winking at Ilona and watching her walk into the kitchen nearby pretending she couldn't hear. "That's it. You just can't tell Jan." "Who'll tell her then?" "Just tell her it's not working out. I'll pay for the divorce and get you the space on Fifth Avenue." "What if I'd rather have the store somewhere else?" Skeeter asked as he saw Ilona glancing towards him. "Whereever you want." "And the capital to start the business?" "I'll take care of that too." "So Stanley you're saying you'll give me the capital and pay for the divorce." "That's right." "What's the catch?" "You have to do it now. Right away." "You mean dump your daughter now or the deals off?" Skeeter said as he saw Ilona's hand go up to her mouth to cover her gasp. "You don't have to use such harsh terms with her. Just tell her it's not working out and you just aren't the marrying type. Don't hurt her but do it now," Stanley said. "You're willing to write the check today?" Skeeter asked putting his beer on the coffee table and turning the TV off with the remote. "Today," Stanley said hopefully. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
