Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday August 5th 2003
Tiffany closed the door to the townhouse where she worked as Clark's secretary.  She had just spent her lunch hour at home in her apartment. She had tried to persuade her sister Starlene to stay and not move in with her wealthy lover Stanley.  Judging from the packed boxes she'd seen, Starlene would be living with Stanley very soon. Tiffany walked to her desk and glanced down at the handwritten note her boss had left there. She took a seat and read the note that said he had gone to an appointment and would be back in an hour.
  The front door of the townhouse opened and Alexis walked in smiling broadly.
"Hi Tiffany.  Is Clark here?" she asked as she closed the door.
"No. I just got back from lunch and he left me a note saying he'd gone to an appointment," Tiffany said taking a seat at her desk. 
"Oh.  I'll wait then.  I don't have anything else to do today," she said walking towards Tiffany's desk and taking a seat in a nearby chair.
"Okay.  It might be a while though," Tiffany said hoping she would just leave.
"That's okay.  Besides you and I need some time to talk and get used to each other," Alexis said crossing her legs and leaning back in the chair.
"That's true."
"So tell me more about you. Clark told me that you had a relationship with Amir Hada but that he didn't think that was working out for you," Alexis said studying Tiffany's face.
"Oh is that what Clark said?"
"Yes.  But he said that you also had been seeing Brandon Douglas.  Wow what a heartthrob!" she said smiling.
"He is good-looking," Tiffany admitted.
"You certainly must know a few things about men."
"Well I don't know if I'd go that far."
"I would.  You're seeing two very powerful men."
"Why did Clark say that he didn't think things would work out between me and Amir?"
"He just told me that the two of you had been struggling to have a relationship for years and that Amir's wife had finally died and now Amir was always abroad."
"I didn't realize that Clark was paying that much attention to me," Tiffany said raising her eyebrows.
"Of course.  This is a small office. Our working relationships become like a marriage."
"Yeah, that's true."
"Tell me about Clark's wife Nicole."
"She's in Florida now," Tiffany said.
"I know. But what was she like?"
"She was nice," Tiffany lied.
"I can tell Clark really loved her and she hurt him."
"Yeah."
"She never cooked for him or anything like that did she?"
"No. I don't think Nicole ever cooked anything the entire time she lived here," Tiffany said honestly.
"He really seemed to enjoy the meal I made him last night."
"I'm sure he did."
"I can tell he's starved for love and affection too."
"Oh?" Tiffany said watching Alexis.
"Yeah, I can tell there were quite a few things she never did for him."
"Like what?"
"He's been lonely.  He told me that Nicole had grown cold toward him shortly after they were married."
"I wouldn't know," Tiffany lied.
"Things are going to change around here Tiffany. I have a lot of plans for this office and for Clark."
