Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday July 22nd 2003
"I'll speak to Vinny," Starlene said taking the phone from her sister.  She tossed her new dress on Tiffany's bed and took the phone from her sister. "Hello," she said.
"Starlene. I need to talk you," Vinny said.
"I'm kind of busy now," she said watching Tiffany brush her hair as she prepared for her date with Brandon tonight.
"It's important."
"Can we talk on the phone?'
"What's the matter Starlene?  I thought you and me's had a good relationship," he said referring to the other night when he'd stopped by her apartment and got to first base with her.
"Vinny. I told you the other night. I'm seeing Stanley and I feel like I owe him the chance to straighten things out between us."
"Did he come over there after I left?"
"Yeah."
"He knows I was there, don't he?"
"Matter of fact he does Vinny."
"He found my driver's license in your sofa there, didn't he?"
"Yeah. You lost it."
"No I left it there."
"What? You mean you left it there on purpose?" Starlene asked as her heart raced thinking about Vinny's intentions.
"Yeah. I left it there on purpose."
"I wish you hadn't done that Vinny it almost caused me a lot of trouble with Stanley."
"You said you weren't using me to make him jealous but it sounds more and more like it was your intention there Starlene."
"No. I wasn't using you Vinny."
"Then have you made up your mind about us?"
"I have to have more time," she said shrugging her shoulders as Tiffany turned to give her a look of concern.
"Time?  Time for what?"
"I told you Vinny I've been seeing Stanley a long time.  I can't just dump him like that."
"You know I care a lot about you Starlene."
"I care for you too Vinny," she lied having mixed feelings over the last few days.
"I told you Starlene that I'm ready to settle down and marry you if that's what you're looking for," he said.
"I can't do that Vinny. I have to be sure about everything."
"You mean Stanley?"
"Yeah," she said putting the new dress back in the shopping bag as she talked.
"Did he say he'd marry you Starlene?"
"Not yet."
"And he ain't either."
"I don't know Vinny. I think we're coming to an understanding."
"I don't think so."
"Well, I wouldn't say that.  I'm the one involved with him Vinny."
"But you ain't the only one involved with him Starlene."
"What are you saying?"
"He's not being honest with you and you're passing up a chance with me," he said as he adjusted the gold chains on his muscular neck.
"What are you saying?"
"I know he saw Nicole again."
"How do you know that?"
"Why don't we gets together and talk it over?"
"Just tell me Vinny."
"I don't want to be talking on the phone.  I'm leaving for Florida.  If you want to talk then come over here to the Washington Square Hotel and we'll talk."
