Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday July 21st 2003
"Tiffany are you home?"  Starlene called out as she walked into their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park.
"In here," Tiffany called out from her bedroom.
"What are you up to tonight?" Starlene asked walking into her sister's bedroom carrying shopping bags from Fifth Avenue.
"Just getting ready to go out with Brandon," Tiffany said picking up a bottle of perfume and touching her wrist.
"Oh so it's Brandon and not Amir?"
"Amir went back to his island to straighten out his deceased wife's affairs."
"Oh.  That's convenient."
"I feel guilty about it.  I know I'll have to make a decision between the two men sooner or later."
"Which one do you think it would be?"
"I love Amir.  But Brandon is really such a catch," Tiffany said shrugging her shoulders as she turned to see the shopping bags Starlene had thrown on her bed. "Wow what's all of that?"
"Dresses.  I couldn't decide which one I wanted so I brought home a few."
"Starlene you aren't working you shouldn't be spending money like that."
"Stanley's paying for them," she said taking one of the dresses out of the designer shopping bag.
"You're going to let Stanley pay for the dress that you'll wear when you try to make a big impression on another man?"
"Yeah.  Why not?"
"You don't feel guilty about that?"
"No.  If Stanley had been the man he should be then I'd be buying a wedding dress now. Wouldn't I?"
"Yeah, I guess so.  So let's see what you found," Tiffany said taking a seat on the bed as she watched her sister pull the dresses out of the tissue paper.
"This one is my favorite," Starlene said holding the dress up that was cut all the way down in the front to her waist.
"Starlene you can't wear that!"
"Oh yes I can."
"What kind of party is this at Gracie Mansion?"
"It's a party with celebrities, that's all I know.  If celebrities will be there then that means they'll be wearing low cut dresses." Starlene said taking another dress from the other shopping bag.
"I guess. But what if they are all dressed casually?"
"Then the Mayor will certainly notice me won't he?" she said taking the tissue paper off of the other dress.
"Starlene you can't possibly arrange to get a date with the Mayor of New York City!" Tiffany said laughing.
"Why not?"
"Because you don't have any money and he's a billionaire."
"With all his money why would he care whether I have money?"
"Why would he be interested in you though?"
"Why not?"
"Oh this is crazy.  But go ahead you'll see.  Men like the Mayor of New York don't go out with just anyone."
"I think I have a good chance with him," Starlene said holding up the second dress that was just as low cut as the first one.
"We'll see won't we?" Tiffany said as the phone rang on the nightstand near her bed. "Hello" she answered expecting it to be Brandon.
"Tiffany.  Is your sister there? This is Vinny calling."
"I think she's busy right now Vinny," Tiffany lied looking at Starlene and raising her eyebrows.
"Tell her I got's to see her before I go back to Florida," Vinny said.
"Is there something wrong Vinny?"
"Yeah."
"Is it serious?"  Tiffany asked worried about his connections to the mob and her sister's romantic encounter with the big brute.
"I think so."
