Starlene called out as she slammed the door to their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. "In the living room," Tiffany said turning down the sound on the TV with the remote. "Hi," Starlene said walking into the living room and tossing her purse on the table. "Where have you been all dressed up? Have you finally started to look for a job?" Tiffany asked hopefully. "No, nothing like that. I went by Stanley's office to talk to him about the other night." "Did you get things straight?" she asked referring to the strained relationship in the recent days. "He found Vinny's driver's license in the sofa cushion while I was in the kitchen the other night. That's why he left so suddenly and has been acting so strangely," Starlene said taking a seat on the sofa beside her sister. "Oh my." "Yeah, I was really nervous when he showed me the driver's license." "Well what did you say?" "I told him that Vinny came over to talk to me about how Stanley had been sneaking around with Nicole in the past." "Hum," Tiffany said wondering if Stanley had fallen for that half-truth. "He didn't believe it completely." "I told you that you were messing with fire when you allowed Vinny to come over here." "Well, I turned it around. I told Stanley that I let Vinny come over because Vinny was the only one that could tell me the truth about Nicole," she said referring to the fact that Vinny worked for Nicole's father the mob boss in Florida. "He believed that?" "He didn't have much choice." "That was a narrow escape wasn't it?" "Yeah. But the truth is that Vinny and I didn't go all the way or anything," Starlene said remembering how close they did come. "So is everything all patched up with you and Stanley?" "Yep, for now." "Good then I guess you've learned your lesson and you won't be seeing Vinny anymore." "I don't plan on seeing Vinny, no." Starlene said hesitating. "You won't will you?" "No. But I might see someone else," she said smiling coyly. "Who Starlene?" "The Mayor." "The Mayor of New York?" Tiffany asked shocked. "I convinced Stanley to take me to a party at Gracie Mansion and I'm going to try and see if I can make a big impression on him." "Starlene he's the Mayor of the City of New York!" "And I'm Starlene from Lillard, Georgia. So what?" "But he's seeing someone." "So am I. But neither one of us is married. Now are we?" "You'll never pull something like this off Starlene," Tiffany said dismissing her young sister. "Want to bet?" "When is the party?" Tiffany asked. "Next week. I've got to really make an impression," Starlene said picking up her Frederick's of Hollywood catalog from the coffee table. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
