Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday July 17th 2003
"Well, Starlene what a surprise to see you here", Stanley said as he walked into the lobby of his office in the Empire State Building.
"I thought I'd stop by since I was in the area," she lied.
"What are you up to today?"
"Just shopping. I wanted to talk to you a while," she said getting up and following him to his office.
"Have a seat Honey," he said kissing her on the cheek lightly before taking a seat behind his desk.
"Stanley you haven't seemed the same since the other night when you stopped by my apartment."
"I know," he said thinking about finding Vinny's driver's license in the sofa cushion while she was in the kitchen.
"What's the matter? I just have to know."
"Starlene have you been unfaithful to me?"
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Stanley why do you keep asking me?"
"Because of this," Stanley said taking Vinny's driver's license from his pocket and tossing it on the desk in front of her.
She picked up the driver's license and looked at the picture of the Mafia connected Vinny that had fallen in love with her on their first encounter.
"Oh that," she said tossing it back on the desk.
"Oh that. Is that all you have to say?"
"It's Vinny's drivers license. That doesn't mean I've done anything wrong."
Starlene I found this in your sofa cushion the other night when I stopped by."
"Oh," she said looking down at her sandals as her mind raced.
"Why was his driver's license in your apartment Starlene?"
"He came by to talk to me."
"Talk to you about what?"
"You and your affair with Nicole," she said as her eyes narrowed.
"I'm not seeing Nicole."
"You did in the past though and she told Clark she was leaving him because of you," she said referring to Nicole's husband.
"But that was a lie Starlene."
"How do I know?"
"Because I told you that."
"You won't commit to marrying me and you've been with Nicole in the past. What am I to believe?"
"I promise you that I'm not seeing Nicole. But are you seeing Vinny?"
"He's been interested, yes," she said spitefully.
"Starlene he works for Nicole's father," he said referring to the fact that Nicole's Father is a mob boss in Florida.
"I can't help it. I didn't start all of this."
"Are you trying to get me killed?"
"No. But I wanted the truth and Vinny could tell me."
"So I guess I should be asking you what happened?"
"Not much," she lied thinking about their passionate encounter on her sofa.
"I can't believe this. You've been with the very guy that might do me in."
"No he won't. Maybe I'm the one that is saving you from being done in, did you ever think of that?"
"Starlene you and Vinny didn't?" he asked stopping himself.
"No we didn't go all the way or anything like that."
"Oh this is just horrible."
"See how I feel! That's how I felt when I knew you were with Nicole."
"You aren't going to see him again are you?"
"No. Are you going to see Nicole?"
"No," he said hoping she would never find out that Nicole had been in the limo with him this morning.
