Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday July 15th 2003 Stanley watched through the tinted windows in the back of his limo as the doorman at the Plaza Hotel opened the door for tourists. "You want me to park," his driver asked glancing in the rear view mirror as he watched his nervous wealthy employer. "No. This is fine. We won't stay but a few more minutes," he said when he spotted her coming out of the front door alone. "There she is now," Stanley said opening the door of the limo. "Nicole," he called out. "Stanley hi," she said walking towards the limo as the sun danced on her long dark hair. "What are you doing here?" she asked smiling broadly as she noticed his eyes on her sun-tanned legs in the short mini skirt she was wearing. "I was looking for you. Are you alone?" he asked glancing in both directions of the sidewalk. "Yeah." "Want to get in so we can talk?" "Sure," she said as he slid over in the seat and she climbed in beside him. He reached over her and pulled the door closed. "Where are you going?" he asked. "Shopping." "Oh. Then I hope you have time to talk a while?" "Sure. How are you?" she asked studying the face of her one time former employer and lover. "I'm fine and you?" "Great. Did you hear about my divorce from Clark?" "Yeah. You're seeing Skeeter aren't you?" he asked referring to his new son-in-law. "No. Well, maybe once or something," she said crossing her legs and allowing the short skirt to rise up on her thighs. "It's great to see you Stanley," she said putting her hand on his lap and rubbing the inside of his thigh. "I've got to talk to you Nicole." "You're upset about me seeing Skeeter, aren't you?" she asked pretending to pout. "No. I wish someone would take Skeeter." "Oh, you don't like your new son-in-law?" "Not one bit. It's not about Jan and Skeeter," he said taking her hand from his lap and placing it on the seat of the limo. "Oh. I thought this was a friendly visit," she said offended. "It is. But I have some things I need to ask you Nicole." "Well, ask Stanley. We've never hid anything from each other. Now have we?" "Nicole did you tell your father that we'd been seeing each other again?" he asked referring to her father that was a mob boss in Florida. "No, why?" she asked glancing out of the window to avoid his eyes. "Because Starlene said that she heard that. She said that you told Clark you were divorcing him because of me." "Oh, it's just a rumor or something silly like that," she said crossing her legs again as the skirt slid up barely covering her. He glanced down at her legs and took a deep breath. "Nicole your father said if he ever found out that we were together again, that would be it," he said lightly touching his chest as the familiar tightness returned. "Oh. Don't worry about that Stanley. I can handle Daddy." "I worry about this guy Vinny that works for your father," Stanley said remembering how he'd found Vinny's driver's license in Starlene's sofa. "Vinny? Oh Vinny's just a friend of the family." "That's what worries me Nicole. You've got to straighten this out. You've got to be sure your father and Vinny both know that we aren't seeing each other and that I don't have anything to do with your divorce from Clark." "Of course. Is that the only thing on your mind today?" she asked leaning back in the seat. She rested her head on his shoulder and kicked off her sandals. She smiled when she noticed the driver staring at her in the rear-view mirror. "You weren't meeting anyone here today were you Nicole?" Stanley asked worrying that somehow the tinted windows wouldn't conceal them. "Nope. I have the whole day off. No one knows where I am and I'm not expected for any appointments," she said as her hand slid down the top of his thigh. "How about you Stan?" she asked seductively. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
