Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday July 3rd 2003
Tiffany tossed her purse on the table as she walked into the living room glancing at the sofa where her sister Starlene was seated.
"I've got a lot of news Tiffany," Starlene said getting up and walking towards the mirror to check her hair.
"What kind of news?"
"You know I told you that Vinny let it slip that Nicole told her father that Stanley had interfered with her marriage to Clark."
"Yeah?" Tiffany said taking a seat on the sofa and watching her sister primp.
"Well, I took your advice Tiffany," Starlene said turning from the mirror to face her sister.
"You told Stanley that you were going to see other men if he didn't set the wedding date?" Tiffany said remembering her words of advice to her young sister about her older lover.
"That's right."
"What did he say?"
"Well, first I told him that Nicole had told her father that she was leaving Clark because Stanley had interfered with her marriage to Clark."
"Yeah," Tiffany said watching Starlene closely.
"He denied it of course."
"I know you must be broken hearted Starlene. But you know maybe Nicole's lying about it."
"Well, maybe. But you know Stanley has put me off for so long about our wedding date."
"That's true.
"So I told him that I was planning to see other men."
"Wow. What did he say?"
"He didn't like it, but I told him that was that," Starlene said glancing back in the mirror and adjusting her low cut sweater to reveal even more of her voluptuous pushed up bosom.
"Well, he really has kept you hanging on a long time," Tiffany said thoughtfully.
"Yeah you're right it's been long enough. I'm moving on now," she said smiling.
"What does that mean?"
"I called Vinny and told him I would see him," she said referring to Nicole's mob boss father's friend.
"No! You didn't do that!" Tiffany said.
"Yes, I did. Just now," she said glancing towards the phone.
"Starlene. Are you crazy? Vinny works for Nicole's father. Nicole's father has threatened Stanley in the past."
"That's because Stanley was seeing Nicole then remember?" she said thinking about the day she had dropped by Stanley's office and caught Nicole and him in the act on the sofa in his office.
"Yeah, but you can't be going out with someone connected to Nicole's family in any way."
"I like Vinny," Starlene said remembering the evening Vinny had taken her home in the limo when she had been angry with Stanley. Even after all these months she could remember in detail the unfinished steamy affair in the back of the limo.
"You just can't do that Starlene."
"But you told me I should see other people if Stanley didn't agree to marry me."
"But not some... mobster," Tiffany said jumping up from the sofa and starting to pace the floor.
They both turned when they heard three quick knocks on the front door of the apartment.
"I'll get it," Starlene said. "It's Vinny," she said pulling her low cut sweater further down in the front as she walked towards the door.
