Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday July 2nd 2003 Starlene glanced at Vinny's card on the coffee table as she dialed the phone number on the card. She heard the phone ringing and she slid back on the sofa of her apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. "Yeah," he answered his masculine hands gripping his small cell phone. "Vinny, are you busy?" she asked in her sexiest voice. "Who's this here?" he asked staring out of the window of his hotel room at the Washington Square Hotel. "It's me, Starlene." "Oh hey there Starlene. How's you doing honey?" his voice instantly softening. "I'm okay. I just wanted to tell you that I took your advice," she said referring to their chance meeting this afternoon. He had come by Nicole and Clark's townhouse to help Nicole pack up and leave her husband. He told Starlene that Nicole had mentioned to her mob boss father that it was Stanley that had interfered with her marriage. "What's that?" "I told Stanley that I knew he'd been seeing Nicole," she said referring to her conversation a few minutes ago with her older lover. "Oh you did huh?" "Yeah." "And what did he say about that?" "He denied it." "What you expect huh?" "That's right. I told him that he'd lied in the past and I didn't believe him." "A man's only good as his word." "That's right and he promised he'd set the date for our wedding and he never did." "Yeah. I hear you there," Vinny said thinking about the voluptuous blonde and the evening months ago when he'd taken her home in the limousine. Starlene had been angry with Stanley that night and he'd almost scored with her in the back seat of the limo. "So I told him I was going to start seeing other men," Starlene said thinking about how Vinny had flirted this afternoon and asked her to call anytime. "Now that's some good news if I ever heard any," he said adjusting the gold chain on his muscular neck. "I hoped that you'd be glad to hear that." "I hope it's good news for me though," he said visualizing the low cut sweater she had on this afternoon when he handed her his card. "I think so," she said giggling. "Well, hows about I come over and see you right now?" "Well, I guess that would be okay," she said as her heart raced with anticipation. "I'll be right there," he said picking up his wallet and putting it in his back pocket. "You remember where I live?" "The memory of that night in the limo outside your building is forever in my heart," he said glancing in the mirror and brushing his fingers through his hair. "Good. Then I'll tell the doorman to let you in," she said. "I'll be there in a minute, I'm just over here at the Washington Square Hotel." "Yeah, I guess it won't take you long since you're staying right around the corner from me," she said glancing out the window at Washington Square Park. "I'll see you soon Starlene," he said hanging up the phone and picking up the keycard to his hotel room. Starlene reached for her purse and took out her lip-gloss as the front door of the living room opened. "That you Tiffany?" she called out pressing her heavily glossed lips together. "Yeah, it's me. Is Stanley here?" Tiffany asked referring to her sister's older lover. "Nope and I have a lot of news," Starlene said as she watched Tiffany walk into the living room of their apartment.
