Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday June 11th 2003 "I can't believe what a mess I've made of everything," Tiffany said watching Starlene close the front door after Stanley left. Starlene walked back into the living room of their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. "Yes, it sure is a mess now," Starlene said taking a seat on the sofa beside her sister. "What do you think Stanley will do?" Tiffany asked referring to her remark that Skeeter was at the Plaza Hotel with Nicole tonight. She had made the remark in the foyer as she entered the apartment not realizing that Stanley was in the living room with Starlene. "I don't know. I really don't know. I know he hates Skeeter. Now that he knows Skeeter was at the Plaza with Nicole he might tell Jan," Starlene said referring to Stanley's daughter that had recently married Tiffany's ex-husband Skeeter. "Yeah, but I only saw Skeeter walk to the entrance of the restaurant, look around then leave," Tiffany said remembering the events of the evening. "Come on Tiffany. You made the reservation for Nicole at the Plaza Hotel. We both overheard Nicole talking to Skeeter right after she said she was leaving Clark. Then Skeeter shows up at the dining room looking around? Come on. He was looking for Nicole," Starlene said knowingly. "Do you think that Stanley will tell Jan?" "Maybe. I don't know. You couldn't blame Stanley if he did," Starlene said. "Skeeter's really got his nerve," Tiffany said. "Yes he does Tiffany. He's such a cheater." "Do you think that Skeeter and Nicole are at the Plaza together now?" Tiffany asked thoughtfully. "Yeap!" "He deserves to get caught." "Yeap," Starlene said reaching over to take a sip of her wine. "And Nicole deserves to be caught too." "She sure does. I mean the nerve of her having her father's friend Vinny come up here from Florida and break the news to Clark that she was divorcing him. Then she turns around and meets Skeeter at the Plaza the same night," Tiffany said as the phone rang. Tiffany put her wineglass on the coffee table and picked up the phone. "Hello" she answered. "Tiffany. I'm so glad you're home," Clark said. "Oh hi Clark," Tiffany said quickly looking at Starlene. Starlene put her wineglass back on the coffee table and watched her sister closely. "Nicole left me a note. She went to a hotel for the night," he said sniffling as he wiped the tears from his eyes. "I'm so sorry Clark. Are you okay?" Tiffany asked. "I have to know why this has happened to me. I don't understand Tiffany. I love Nicole. I thought we were happy." "I guess she wasn't happy Clark," Tiffany said. "What can I do?" "I don't think there's anything you can do Clark," Tiffany said shrugging her shoulders as she looked at Starlene and watched her shaking her head in disbelief. "I thought Nicole and I were going to start a family. I spent all of my time going to Florida and doing the parties for her Father. Now my business is all but gone here in New York," he said as his voice cracked in pain. "You'll get more business Clark," Tiffany said. "But Nicole. She's so wonderful. She's everything I wanted," he said. "You'll fall in love again one day Clark." "Never. I don't think I will ever get over this." "Yes you will." "No because I don't know why. Why?" he said unable to hold back his tears any longer. "I'm so sorry," Tiffany said shaking her head as she listened to his sobs. "Do you know which hotel she went to Tiffany?" he asked his voice racked with pain. "Yes, but she made me promise not to tell," Tiffany said. "If I guess would you just say yes," he asked. "I guess I could do that," she said hoping he couldn't possibly guess. "The Four Seasons Hotel?" "No," Tiffany said relieved. "The Plaza?" he asked remembering that was Nicole's favorite hotel.
