Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday June 10th 2003 "Come on honey, I don't want you posing for Playbody Magazine," Stanley said. He watched Starlene scoot away from him to her side of the sofa in the living room of her apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. "I told you Stanley. I'm not going to wait forever. I either want to get married or get my career moving," she said clearly disappointed that he wouldn't agree to contact his friend that worked as the editor of Playbody Magazine. "Just give me a little more time honey," he said admiring her new low cut sweater. "How much time? You said that after Jan got married and settled down, we could set the date. Well, she's married now," she said referring to his daughter. "Don't remind me," he said picking up his glass of wine from the coffee table and taking a sip. He just couldn't accept the fact his socialite daughter had married Tiffany's ex-husband Skeeter, the lingerie salesman. "Well, she is and you promised me Stanley." "I know. I know I promised you Starlene." "It's really easy Stanley. You either commit to a wedding date for us or you simply call your friend and get me a job posing for Playbody. What's so hard about that?" "Starlene I don't want you posing for Playbody." "Why? Laney did," she said referring to his former girlfriend that had been the centerfold, then went on to become an actress in B movies in California. "That's different." "Different! Oh, so Laney is prettier than I am! Is that it Stanley?" she asked yanking her short skirt down when she noticed him looking at her legs. "No. It's not that at all honey." "Then you better explain that to me." "I love you Starlene. Laney was just a pretty girl. You're different." "I don't believe you. You're making excuses." "No. I do mean it." "Well I think it's because you don't think I'm pretty enough." "No. You're prettier than Laney," he said watching her expression instantly soften. "Really?" she asked pushing her shoulders back against the sofa. "Yes," he said smiling as he reached over and put his arm around her. "Then get me a job modeling." "I don't want you to model for that magazine." "Why Stanley? You read it every month. What's wrong with that magazine? That's all I need to do then I could go on to be an actress just like Laney." "I don't want you to Starlene. I don't want men seeing you like that," he said as the front door of the apartment opened. "Starlene are you home?" Tiffany called out. "Yeah, in here, How did it go at the Plaza Hotel?" Starlene asked still thinking over Stanley's last remark. Stanley straightened his shirt glad that Tiffany couldn't see his appearance for a few more minutes as she locked the front door in the hallway. "It went okay. Brandon and I had dinner then I left. I didn't want to spend the night with him. Besides I wasn't very comfortable knowing that Skeeter was in the hotel with Nicole tonight," she said as she walked down the hallway towards the living room unaware that Stanley was in the apartment. "Skeeter was at the Plaza Hotel with Nicole?" Stanley asked as Tiffany entered the living room. "Stanley! I didn't know you were here," Tiffany said wondering how he'd take the news that his new son-in-law Skeeter was already cheating on his daughter Jan. "Are you sure Skeeter was there with Nicole?" he asked taking a long sip of his wine. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
