Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday June 5th 2003 Tiffany and Starlene tiptoed away from the stairway where they had been eavesdropping on Tiffany's bosses' wife Nicole. They had just heard Nicole hang up the phone after a conversation with Tiffany's ex-husband Skeeter. Skeeter had recently married Jan Morgan and judging from the conversation they had just listened to he was secretly seeing Nicole. Tiffany quietly pulled out her desk chair and took a seat as Starlene glanced up to see Nicole coming down the stairs. "Starlene what are you doing here?" Nicole asked as she walked into the living room. "Oh I stopped by to see if my sister would go to lunch with me," she said glancing towards Tiffany as she nodded her head in agreement. "Well, are you going to lunch?" Nicole asked. "No. I need to work on the billing today," Tiffany said. "Did Clark say when he was coming back?" Nicole asked picking up her shopping bags and walking towards the sofa. "No, he rushed out," Tiffany said. "Yeah, he's all upset with me," Nicole said taking a seat on the sofa. She reached into the expensive Fifth Avenue shopping bags and pulled out items wrapped in tissue paper. "I'm sorry to hear that," Tiffany said having overheard the entire events of the morning. "He'll get over it. The billing is pretty anemic isn't it?" Nicole asked glancing up to see Tiffany pretending to be working on the billing. "Yeah, it's the worst I've ever seen it," Tiffany said honestly. "Once I'm gone my Father will give Clark a big fat settlement and that will make him feel better," Nicole said as she took the high priced tags off her new mini skirt. "Gone? Are you going somewhere?" Tiffany asked as if she didn't already know. "Look it's a small house and I'm sure you overheard a lot today. I'm leaving. I'm going back to Florida," Nicole said standing up and holding the new skirt to her hips. "You like it?" she asked. "Yeah," Starlene and Tiffany both said in unison. "If you don't mind me asking Nicole... why are you leaving?" Tiffany asked. "I'm sick of this. I can't stand being married to Clark," she said tossing the skirt on the sofa and picking up another shopping bag to unload. "Oh. That's too bad," Tiffany said. "I wanted to see what being married was like. I've been there done that now," she said taking new cosmetics from the boxes and placing them on the coffee table. "Are you going to get a divorce?" Starlene asked. "Yeah, Daddy will take care of it," she said referring to her mob boss father in Florida. "What will you do Nicole?" Tiffany asked. "I told my Father I'd come back home to Florida, but I don't know," she said. "Really, you mean you might not go back to Florida?" Starlene asked. "Well, I told Daddy what he wanted to hear. At least he'll get me out of the marriage if I say I'm moving home." "I thought your father liked Clark," Tiffany said. "He did at first, but then I think he started seeing that Clark wasn't the right one for me after all." "Really?" Tiffany asked. "Yeah, I thought being married to a Manhattan Party Planner would be so exciting. Boy was I wrong," she said opening her gold compact and trying on the new lip-gloss. "Things will pick up for Clark's business," Tiffany said as she watched her. "Oh it's more than that. Clark's boring. I have someone else that's far more exciting and aggressive. Daddy knows I'm bored and confused. He wants me to settle down and he thinks the right guy might come along and fit into our family," she said picking up her new loot and starting towards the stairs to go up. "Are you interested in anyone we know?" Starlene asked since she and her sister had just overheard the conversation between Skeeter and Nicole. "I'm not going to tell you that. Besides one of the guys is married. We'll have to wait and see how far this goes," she said looking Tiffany straight in the eyes. "Married?" Starlene asked. "We've had problems with the timing. First I got married, now he's married. But if things don't work out, there are plenty others," she said tossing the bags on the sofa and walking upstairs. "I guess I better pack up. Do me a favor Tiffany book me a room at the Plaza Hotel for tonight, would you?" Nicole asked as she walked up the stairs. "I don't want to stay here and listen to Clark's pleading all night." CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
