Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday May 29th 2003
"Mornin", Tiffany said as she watched Clark come down the stairs into the living room of his townhouse where they worked.
"Hi Tiffany, how's your romance with Brandon going?" Clark asked walking towards her desk and taking a seat.
"Okay, I guess," she said surprised that he would ask.  "What's the matter Clark you look upset about something?" she asked noticing the stress on his face.
"It's nothing... I guess," he said looking down at the floor.
"Business is slow isn't it?" she said wondering how long it would be before he booked another big party or event.
"Yeah, it's horrible.  I don't care though."
"I'm glad you've got all of that business from Nicole's Father in Florida to get you by now," she said smiling.
"I
did have his business."
"He doesn't have any more yacht parties coming up?" she asked referring to Nicole's mob boss father.
"Not for me to work on," he said choking back the tears.
"Clark has something happened?"
"I don't know.  I thought I'd be doing another party for him for the Fourth of July. You know he does this big fireworks event for everyone in his neighborhood each year. I thought I had convinced him to let me do it for him."
"So that's not that far away, it's May now."
"He canceled it on me."
"Oh."
"Yeah, then he called me and said Vinny was coming to talk to me today."
"Vinny?" Tiffany asked frowning as she tried to remember where she'd heard that name before.
"Yeah, he's a family friend. You met him."
"Oh, yes.  Vinny," Tiffany said remembering the rough guy that was friends with Nicole and her family. "I thought he had moved down to Florida or something."
"He did but Nicole's Father is sending him here," Clark said as the front door opened. A big straggly guy walked in sporting an open shirt with gold chains on his neck.
"Vinny, hello nice to see you," Clark said smiling and walking towards him with his hand extended.
"Pleasure," Vinny said glancing towards Tiffany as the two men shook hands.
"Do you remember my secretary Tiffany?"
"Oh yeah.  I make it a point to never forget a pretty face.  How ya doin?"
"Fine thanks," Tiffany said.
"Look man I came to convey some stuff that Nicole's father wants you to know," Vinny said patting Clark on the back.
"Is he okay?" Clark asked.
"Oh yeah, he's just got some pressing business to talk care of down in the Keys.  He wanted me to handle this."
"Would you like a cup of coffee or something?" Clark asked motioning for Vinny to take a seat on the sofa across the living room.
"No thanks. I don't have long.  I got other business in New York today.  We just need to talk a few minutes, okay?" Vinny said.
"Sure.  Want to go up to my office?" Clark asked motioning towards the stairs.
"What's that room back there?" Vinny asked pointing to the kitchen beyond Tiffany's desk.
"That's the kitchen," Clark said.
"Anybody in there now?"
"No."
"I like talking in the kitchen. Let's me and you go in there," Vinny said putting his muscular arm around Clark's shoulder as they walked past Tiffany's desk.
