Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday May 28th 2003 "Wow for a man that was depressed you certainly seemed to get in a better mood," Starlene said glancing at her older lover as he lay in his bed watching her comb her long blonde hair. "You really do make me feel good and I missed you," Stanley said. He couldn't stop thinking about last night and the passionate sounds he'd heard from his daughter's bedroom next door. Jan and Skeeter spent their first night in his mansion after their recent marriage. Skeeter had made sure Stanley couldn't deny his presence in the family any longer. "I think it's time we set the date for our wedding Stanley," Starlene said tossing her clothes on the chair and taking a seat on the bed. "Oh please honey. We've just had a wonderful time. We'll talk later," he said wondering if he should give in to the urge to smoke. "Later, later, that's all I ever hear from you. I want to settle this now. You promised me that once you weren't worried about Jan anymore we'd discuss it." "I'm more worried about Jan than ever," he said. "I don't want to hear the excuses anymore. Jan's married now. There's nothing you can do. You promised me. Everyone is getting married and getting on with life, except for me," she said pouting. "Oh come on honey," he said pushing her long blonde hair from her eyes as he smiled at her. "It's true Stanley. Jan's married. Skeeter's happy. My sister Tiffany's got two lovers now. I want to know I have a future." "Is Tiffany in love with Brandon?" Stanley asked eager to know if Tiffany had fallen for the handsome Broadway Theater owner. "She really likes him." "How much?" he asked dying for details. "A lot." "Well, are they or aren't they?" "You sound like me Stanley Morgan," she said playfully hitting him on the shoulder. "I had to beg her to tell me if they did or not." "Well?" "Yeah, I think so. Then as soon as she fell for Brandon, Amir's wife died. Now's she's got Amir too," she said referring to Tiffany's wealthy lover. Her sister had waited for years for him to be available. "So is she going to see both of them?" "That's what I asked her." "What did she say?" "She wants to be loyal. She feels all guilty now. She thinks she was unfaithful to Amir." "Amir was married. His wife was in a coma, then she was abducted. What did Tiffany think she should have done, waited forever?" "See Stanley! That's exactly what I mean about us," she said as her eyes widened. "Okay, okay," he said getting out of the bed and reaching for his clothes. "So we'll set the date?" "Starlene why do you want to marry me?" "I love you, of course. Don't you love me?" "Yes. But honey I'm old enough to be your Father," he said thinking about the fact he was actually old enough to be her grandfather. "It doesn't matter Stanley. We'll be happy." "You think so honey?" "I know so. You have no idea how happy I can make you Stanley." "Yeah?" he asked wondering what she had in mind. "Your wife has been dead a long time Stanley. You need a woman like me. I'll keep you young," she said smiling as he reached for the cigarettes on the nightstand. "I bet you would." "Then we'll set the date?" "I can't think about a big to-do Starlene. I'd feel kind of foolish," he said lighting the cigarette and wishing it were a cigar instead. "Is that what's keeping you from setting the date? You don't want a big wedding?" she asked realizing he had protested about walking down the aisle with Jan. "Yes," he said thinking she would insist on a wedding. "Then we'll go to Vegas too," she said as her heart raced with excitement. "Just like Skeeter and Jan." CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
