Jan asked holding up Nicole's sandals as she stood in the steamy perfumed bathroom of Skeeter's apartment on Bleecker Street. "What sandals?" he asked in his slow southern accent as he lit his cigarette. "These sandals Skeeter and I told you to stop smoking," Jan said walking towards him with the sandals in her hand. "Oh, I thought they were yours," he said taking a long drag on the cigarette. "Mine?" "Yeah, I found them in the closet when I was getting ready to pack to move to your house Baby. I thought they were yours so I put them in the bathroom to remind myself to give them to you," he lied wondering how Nicole was doing upstairs hiding in the hallway barefoot. "They aren't my sandals Skeeter and you know it," she said staring at the sexy gold shoes as she held them up. "Well, maybe they are some Tiffany left here when she had the apartment," he said referring to his ex-wife. "Four years ago?" "Yeah, I don't clean up much," he said taking a seat on his unmade bed. "Are you sure you didn't have a woman in here when I stopped by?" Jan asked sniffing the perfumed air in the bathroom. "Nope," he lied as his heart raced. "Skeeter this bathroom is really steamy and it smells like a woman's perfume," she said throwing the sandals on the floor and putting her hands on her hips. "Just got out of the shower Baby." "You don't look like you just got out of the shower." "Well, you don't see anybody here but us. Now do you?" he asked. "No," Jan said walking into the bedroom and glancing towards the floor under his bed. "Give me a break Jan. You think I got some babe under the bed?" he said laughing. "Well, this doesn't exactly look right." "Jan we just got married the other night Baby. You don't think I'm messin' round. Now do you?" he asked putting out his cigarette in the ashtray and walking towards her. "I sure hope not Skeeter," she said as he pulled her close to him. "Come on Baby. Let's get out of here and get some lunch," he said kissing her neck. "You don't smell freshly showered either Skeeter," she said touching his face and noticing the perspiration. "You make me all hot and sweaty Baby," he said pulling her skirt up in the back and pushing her against the wall of his bedroom, knowing this would anger her. "Stop this Skeeter," she said pulling away from him. "We have to go." "Go where?" he asked relieved she was ready to depart. "To dinner with Father tonight," she said eyeing the sandals on the floor as she walked back towards his living room. "What?" "Yes, we're having our first dinner together as a family," she said walking towards the futon sofa and picking up her purse. "I don't want to have dinner with your Father," he said stubbornly. "Were you planning on dinner with the woman that wore the sandals over here?" she asked as her eyes narrowed. "No. I didn't have anyone here." "I'm not sure I believe that Skeeter." "It's the truth," he lied. "Come on. Let's go. My driver is waiting. But I can tell you something right now Skeeter Diamond. I'm watching you. As long as you're married to me there better not be any other women around. I hope you understand," she said turning to watch him putting on his shirt. "Of course Jan," he said grabbing his keys from the coffee table. "I'll be needing a copy of those keys too," she said walking out of the door. Skeeter locked the door with the key and turned to see the back of Jan's head as she walked down the stairs. He glanced up and saw Nicole's bare feet as she stood at the top of the stairs looking down at him smiling broadly. He winked. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
