Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday May 19th 2003 "Hurry, hurry, hurry," Skeeter said as he rushed towards the bathroom and tossed Nicole's clothes at her before quickly running down the hallway to his living room. The buzzer of the intercom sounded repeatedly as the teakettle whistled on the stove in the kitchen of his Bleecker Street apartment. "What am I going to do?" Nicole cried out as she walked into the living room zipping her jeans as she walked. "Go upstairs and wait in the hallway until Jan leaves," Skeeter said glancing out of the window of his living room to Bleecker Street below. He saw Jan's long white limo at the curb and the driver waiting patiently as Jan buzzed the intercom at the door of the building. "She'll know," Nicole said rushing towards the door of his apartment. "Just go up there and don't come down until she leaves," Skeeter said opening the front door of his apartment as Nicole rushed past him her hair still wet from the shower. "Don't let her stay long Skeeter. I have to get home. You know I have a husband too," Nicole said walking towards the stairway to go up a few floors and wait. "I won't," he said walking back to the buzzer and hitting it to release the door downstairs. He heard the front door open and the sound of Jan's high heels as she climbed the stairs. He glanced up nervously and saw Nicole's bare feet as she made her way up the last flight of stairs. He immediately wondered where she had left her sandals. He quickly turned to walk back into the apartment to look when Jan saw him at the door. "Skeeter what took you so long to answer the door?" she asked as she tried to catch her breath from the stairs. "I was busy," he said holding the door open and glancing behind him to see if Nicole had left anything in the living room. "Busy packing?" "Well, I was getting ready to start," he lied as she walked towards his door. She leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. "What brings you over here Baby?" he asked closing the door behind her. "Your teakettle is whistling in the kitchen Skeeter," she said suddenly realizing she had never known he had one. "Oh yeah," he said rushing towards the kitchen to turn off the stove. He had been making Nicole a cup of coffee when Jan stopped by very unexpectedly. "Take a seat Baby. I'll bring you some coffee," Skeeter said. "You make coffee?" Jan said taking a seat on his futon. "It's noon. It's time for something stronger than coffee Skeeter," Jan said tossing her designer handbag on the soiled futon. "Want a beer then?" he asked turning the knob on the stove, as the kitchen quickly became quiet. "No. I've told you before Skeeter, ladies don't drink beer. Do you have any wine?" she asked picking up one of his sales reports from the coffee table and glancing at his schedule for the next few weeks. "I don't have wine. Why don't we go down to the bar and I'll buy you a drink," he said walking back into the living room to see her quickly putting his sales report back on the coffee table. "Oh that's okay. I just came by to help you pack," she said getting up from the sofa and walking towards him. "I can pack Jan," he said worried what she might find in his bedroom. "I'm going to be a good wife to you Skeeter. That's means helping you with domestic affairs, that you obviously don't know how to handle," she said noticing his dirty socks on the floor near the bedroom door. "You and domestic?" Skeeter said smiling. "I hire domestic help. Let's see how much help you're going to need," she said walking towards his bedroom. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
