Skeeter asked with a broad grin on his face as he walked into the kitchen of Jan's Upper East Side Mansion. He glanced around the kitchen and saw Jan's plump housekeeper smiling at him. "Hay Ilona, you coming with Jan and me to Las Vegas for the big wedding?" he asked as he dropped his overnight bag on the floor. "No Mr. Skeeter, I no come to wedding," she said in her broken English noticing the tight jeans he was wearing. Her mind raced back to the many times he'd walked into the kitchen in his underwear while Jan was in the shower. She had stopped her work many times in the kitchen to listen to their heated sessions upstairs in Jan's bedroom. "Jan tells me that you are planning to go to Las Vegas to get married tonight," Stanley said taking a long sip of his drink and motioning for Ilona to refill the glass. "That's right. No need to make a big deal of this thing. We'll be just as married as if we'd walked down the aisle with me in a monkey suit," Skeeter said. "This is ridiculous," Stanley said as he felt the familiar tightness in his chest. "I thought this was what you wanted. I nice quickie. There won't be any publicity, no fuss. Jan and I will be hitched and it won't even make the society columns," Skeeter said thinking about the large sum of money Stanley had secretly promised him if he'd cancel the big wedding Jan was planning. "Did you tell Skeeter that's what you wanted Father?" Jan snapped. "No," Stanley lied. "Then why did you say that Skeeter?" "I can just tell," Skeeter said not wanting to divulge the private conversation that would yield him plenty of cash soon. "Skeeter look at the time. We better hurry our flight leaves soon," Jan said pointing towards the overnight bag on the floor. "Are you all ready Baby?" Skeeter asked. "I just need to run upstairs and get my ticket," Jan said. "Alright, go up and get your ticket and we'll go", Skeeter said watching her turn quickly and walk towards the stairs. "Ilona could you excuse us a minute?" Stanley asked watching the plump little housekeeper immediately turn and follow Jan upstairs. The two men listened to the sounds of Jan and the housekeeper's footsteps on the stairs in the hallway nearby. "Did you try to talk her out of this?" Stanley asked. "I can't. You know yourself Jan's determined to get married." "I know. I know," Stanley said rubbing his sweaty forehead. "Look I've lived up to my side of the bargain though. I did talk her into canceling the big wedding." "Yeah," Stanley said pacing towards the liquor bottle on the counter. "A deal is a deal," Skeeter said hoping to collect before the trip. "What?" "The deal, you promised me a hundred thousand if I canceled the wedding. Remember?" "That's excessive," Stanley said pouring him a drink. "That's not what you said. You said if I saved you the 'humiliation' of the wedding you'd pay me," Skeeter said hotly. "Why should I do that?" Stanley asked as he heard the sounds of Jan's footsteps in the bedroom above.
