Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday April 25th 2003
"Where did Tiffany and Brandon go tonight?"  Stanley asked as he watched Starlene take a seat beside him on the sofa of her apartment overlooking Washington Square Park.
"The Palm Restaurant of the Plaza Hotel," Starlene said raising her eyebrows.
"Wow.  Sounds like he's ready to make a fast move," Stanley said knowingly.
"I think he's staying there while he's in town," Starlene said handing her older lover Stanley the glass of wine she had brought him.
"Thanks honey," he said taking a sip. "Is Tiffany excited about him?"
"Yes.  She's really excited.  She's been through so much lately with the divorce from Skeeter and Amir's wife being abducted."
"I know," Stanley said taking a sip of his wine. "I would think she would be happy about the divorce from Skeeter."
"You don't like him do you Stanley?" Starlene said referring to her ex-brother-in-law and Stanley's soon to be son-in-law.
"Can't stand him.  I wish to God he'd find himself another rich woman and leave my daughter alone."
"You think
he pursues her?"
"It doesn't matter to me who's chasing whom here.  I just want this public humiliation to end," he said as the phone rang on the coffee table.
"Hello," Starlene said placing her glass of wine on the table as she struggled with the cord on the phone.
"I'm so glad you're still there," Tiffany said in a hurried voice.
"Tiffany how's it going?" Starlene said excited to hear her sister's voice.
"I don't know what to do Starlene," Tiffany said glancing out of the window at the view of Central Park.
"What?  What's up?"
"I'm in Brandon's room at the Plaza Hotel."
"Wow, you're already in his room?" Starlene said glancing at the clock on the mantle.
"Yeah," Tiffany said in a hushed voice.
"That didn't take long.  You couldn't wait could you?" Starlene said glancing towards Stanley and smiling when he raised his eyebrows in approval.
"No.  It all happened so fast. I mean I said I wasn't hungry and he said let me show you my view. I ended up in his room."
"Where is he?"
"He had to go back down to the lobby because a producer stopped by."
"A producer?" Starlene said wondering if she should get dressed and rush over to the Plaza Hotel.
"Yeah.  But when he comes back I think he's expecting... you know," Tiffany said glancing out of the window as a horse and carriage made it's way through Central Park.
"Wow.  He's not wasting anytime is he?"
"Starlene, I never do anything like this.  He makes me
so nervous.  I don't know what to do."
"It's easy Tiffany, just do
it," Starlene said raising her eyebrows at Stanley.
"It's our first date."
"He's a rich Broadway theatre owner Tiffany," Starlene said as Stanley nodded his head in agreement.
"I don't think I can."
"Tiffany are you crazy!"
"No. I worry about Amir finding out. I love Amir.  I just can't."
"Amir's wife is still missing and he's on his island abroad.  You might not have a future with him."
"I know you're right.  Don't tell anyone. You won't will you Starlene?"
"I won't tell anyone.  Just do
it and hurry home to tell me all about it," Starlene said smiling.
"He's at the door now," Tiffany said quietly as she heard the card in the lock.
"Just tell me before you hang up, are you going to do
it?" Starlene asked excitedly.
