Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday April 24th 2003 Tiffany glanced around the dining room of the Palm Restaurant in the Plaza Hotel. She didn't see her handsome dinner date Brandon Douglas. "One?" the waiter asked walking towards her. "No. I'm meeting someone for dinner," Tiffany said glancing at her watch to see that she was only a fashionable ten minutes late. "The party's name, Madame?" "Brandon Douglas," Tiffany said noticing the change of expression on the waiter's face immediately. "This way," he said walking her towards a secluded table. "Mr. Douglas said to tell you he will be here shortly," the waiter said as Tiffany took a seat at the table for two. The waiter unfolded her linen napkin and Tiffany placed it on her lap. "Mr. Douglas ordered a bottle of our best wine. I hope you'll like this," he said pouring a glass of wine. "It's fine I'm sure," Tiffany said never tasting the wine but glancing around the crowded dining room. "Is there anything I can get you?" the waiter asked. He stood beside her table looking down at her voluptuous bosom in the low cut black cocktail dress she was wearing. "No. Thanks. I'm fine," Tiffany said noticing someone at the next table that looked like a movie star. When she looked back towards the entrance she noticed Brandon walking towards her dressed in casual attire. Their eyes met. He smiled broadly and her heart skipped a beat. "Tiffany, I hope you haven't been waiting long," he said as the waiter rushed back to the table to assist him as he took a seat. "I just got here." "I got tied up on the phone with show producers," he said putting the linen napkin on his lap. "It must be very exciting opening a new Broadway theatre," Tiffany said watching as the waiter poured Brandon a glass of wine. "It's work to be honest. Opening night is when I get excited." "I bet." "You'll see." "I'll look forward to hearing all about it." "Wouldn't you want to be there?" "Yes, of course. I'd love to be there." "Well, hopefully... if things go right," Brandon said lifting his glass of wine for a toast. "I hope everything works out for you," Tiffany said picking up her glass to toast. "I'll make the theatre opening a success. You're in control of us. To new beginnings," he said touching her glass. Tiffany lightly touched her glass to his and took a sip of her wine. "Are you hungry?" Brandon asked motioning for the waiter to come to the table. "Not really," Tiffany said regretting that her dress was so tight she would have to skimp on dinner. "I'm not hungry either," he said laughing. "I guess dinner is just the thing to do on a first date," he said closing the menu and motioning for the waiter to pour more wine. "Yeah." "Well, we could skip dinner and go straight for the dessert." "I really have to skip dessert. Summer is right around the corner," she said watching his eyes travel over her cleavage. "Dessert doesn't have to be fattening Tiffany," he said taking a sip of his wine and smiling. "Oh," she said unsure of how to answer him. "You don't strike me as the kind of person that's caught up in dating rituals. Are you?" "Not really." "Good. I'll sign the check and we can get on with getting to know each other," he said motioning for the waiter to bring him the check. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
