Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday April 14th 2003 Tiffany stood at the curb in front of her apartment building across from Washington Square Park. She glanced down the street and saw Amir's long white limo as it made its way in the traffic on MacDougal Street. The limo slowly pulled up to the curb. The driver got out walking around the long car and opened the door for her. She glanced in and saw her handsome lover as he reached out his hand to help her into the car. "Hi Amir," she said smiling warmly as her heart raced at the touch of his hand. "My love, you look more beautiful than ever," he said noticing the short red mini skirt she was wearing. The driver closed the door and walked back around the car. Tiffany glanced up as the door on the driver's side opened. The driver got in and started to maneuver the long car into the traffic. "I'm so surprised you called like this," she said referring to the fact that she hadn't seen him in months and he suddenly called and said he was on his way to her apartment. "I regret that we are unable to go for nice dinner. Media watch very closely. I never want to cause you problems," he said in his broken English as he referred to the reporters that had been following him constantly. "I really understand Amir. I'm just thrilled to get to be with you." "We only ride in car. I want to take you to nice restaurant, but I worry these reporters see us." "It's really okay. Just to get to see you is so wonderful. I was beginning to think I'd never see you again. You said on the phone that you have something important to tell me," she said recalling the serious tone in his voice earlier this evening when he called her unexpectedly. "Yes. They find my wife Malena," he said looking down to avoid her seeing his tears. "What?" "She is…" he said wiping tears from his eyes. "What Amir? Is she alive?" "Yes, she struggle to live," he said as the tears started to flow freely down his handsome face. "Oh God no," Tiffany said putting her arm around him and cradling him in her arms. "What happened to her?" "This I don't know. Only that extremist group leave her body outside my house on my island," he said referring to his island home off the coast of Tonga. "Did they leave a note or anything," Tiffany asked as he put his head back and wiped his eyes and attempted to compose himself. "Yes, but I can tell no more. Only that Malena in hospital again in coma," he said referring to the fact that she had been very sick just before she was abducted. "Oh God. This is just horrible Amir. Do the doctors think that she'll... " She paused unsure whether to ask him. "No. They say that she have little chance... Her health very poor before this, now she... " he said shaking his head. "I'm so sorry Amir. Maybe she'll be okay. Are you going to bring her back to New York for treatment?" "Doctors say this impossible. I go to her tonight. This is why I come to you," he said taking her hand in his and bringing it to his lips. "I'm so sorry," she said feeling guiltier than ever that she had gone to lunch with the wealthy single billionaire Brandon Douglas. She swallowed hard as she realized how shallow she had been to worry about what Nicole might have said to him about the luncheon date. "I love you very much," he said kissing her hand. "I love you too Amir. I hope she'll be okay," she said wondering if she meant the comforting words. "I apologize for so much time I take from you. You single woman. I how you say... ruin your life with my problem," he said shaking his head. "No. Nothing is too much. I love you," she said. "I understand if you not wait any longer," he said watching her eyes closely for a response. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
