Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday April 2nd 2003
"Is that you Tiffany", Starlene called out when she heard the front door of the apartment close.
"Yeah, it's me," Tiffany said walking towards the living room of their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park.
"Are you alone?" Starlene yelled jokingly implying that her sister might have brought home the handsome millionaire she had been to lunch with all afternoon.
"Yes Starlene I'm alone," Tiffany said laughing.
Starlene picked up the remote to the TV and quickly turned down the volume and looked up to watch her sister as she walked into the living room. "Are you in love?" she asked as she watched Tiffany take a seat in the chair across from the sofa.
"I could be Starlene," Tiffany said leaning back in the chair and taking a deep breath.
"Tell me absolutely everything," Starlene said curling her bare feet under her legs on the sofa.
"He's wonderful Starlene.  He's absolutely wonderful," she said referring to the millionaire Broadway executive.
"You guys had a long lunch," Starlene said glancing at her wristwatch.
"Very long.  He left and went straight to the airport after lunch."
"Where did you have lunch?"
"The Palm Room of the Plaza Hotel."
"Whew!"
"All of the waiters knew him by name."
"Did he ask you out again?"
"Well, he says he wants to see me the next time he comes to town."
"Which will be when?"
"Soon probably. The theatre is in the final stages of renovation you know."
"Oh Tiffany you are so lucky.  Do you think he'll use Manhattan Party Planning to do a lot of parties for him?"  Starlene said referring to the business where Tiffany works.
"I don't know he said they have another company that does most of that, but he'll try to give Clark some business."
"Wow.  You know Nicole is going to die when she comes back from Florida with Clark and finds out you went to lunch with Mr. Good Looking Money Bags," Starlene said fighting her feelings of envy.
"I know. I probably shouldn't have gone to lunch with him."
"Why? Are you crazy?"
"What about Amir?" she said referring to her wealthy married lover. "What if Amir finds out I went to lunch with him?"
"You are crazy!  Look Amir's got a wife, remember?"
"And she's missing and maybe dead," Tiffany said feeling guilty.
"And maybe she's not dead too.  Look, this is perfect.  If Amir's wife is dead you go back to him.  If she's alive you've got yourself a rich boyfriend without all of that baggage."
"That's a horrible thing to say Starlene."
"It's true.  You better start getting serious about life Tiffany.  You aren't getting any younger."
"Hay, I don't like the way that sounds."
"Well it's true.  You have to look out for yourself."
"Listen to you lecturing me like that," Tiffany, said referring to the fact that Starlene had a diamond ring without a wedding date for years now.
"I know what I'm doing Tiffany," Starlene said smiling broadly.
"What's up Starlene?" Tiffany said suspiciously as she noticed the excitement in Starlene's eyes.
"Stanley has agreed to marry me."
"Oh really, when?"
