Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday January 22nd 2003 "Oh Stanley, not in the living room," Starlene said to her older lover as he struggled to unhook her lingerie under the tight sweater she was wearing. "Don't be so uptight honey," he said pulling her closer to him as they lounged on the sofa of the apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. "I wanted to talk to you Stanley," she said determined to get him to set the date for their wedding tonight. "Afterwards," he said feeling the stiffening of arthritis in his fingers as he tried once again to free her voluptuous body from the tight lingerie. "I'm tired of waiting Stanley," she whined as she heard the front door of the apartment open. She gently shoved him aside and sat upright on the sofa. "Is that you Tiffany?" she called out into the dimly lit apartment. "Yeah," Tiffany answered taking off her coat in the entrance hall. "Damn," Stanley muttered sitting up and tucking in his shirt. "I'm in here with Stanley," Starlene called out as she heard the sound of Tiffany's footsteps in the hallway. She reached over and turned on the lamp beside the sofa. "Oh. I'm sorry. I thought you and Stanley were going to be at his house," Tiffany said walking into the living room and noticing their disheveled hair. "Hello Tiffany," Stanley said watching her walk towards the nearby chair. "Oh look I can just go to my room, it's late," Tiffany said realizing she had interrupted the lovers. "Forget it Tiffany. We weren't doing anything. Were we Stanley?" Starlene said glancing towards her older lover. "No. We really weren't doing anything," he said realizing the mood was completely gone for him and might not be back anytime soon. "Have a seat Tiffany," Starlene said getting up from the sofa and walking towards the kitchen. "Want a drink? We were having some brandy," she offered. "That sounds good. It's so cold outside," Tiffany said rubbing her hands together to try and warm them. "I haven't seen you in a while Tiffany. Starlene told me you had plans tonight. I asked her if you were going to be with Amir, but she said no," he said referring to her wealthy lover. "No. He's still on his island." "Did they find his wife?" "Not that I know of. He doesn't call me that often. We can't really see each other due to the circumstances. You know how the press can be." "So who's the new fellow?" "What do you mean?" "Tonight, Starlene said you had a date." "I haven't thought of Skeeter as a date in years," she said referring to her estranged husband. "You're seeing Skeeter?" he said scooting closer to the edge of the sofa to get closer to her. "We were just a… we…we were just talking," she said remembering that he was Jan's father and this might have been a fatal mistake to admit she had seen him. "Oh God. I never knew the two of you had thoughts of getting back together." "I didn't say that Stanley. I know that Skeeter is engaged to your daughter now." "Tiffany I can't believe the two of them ever got together to begin with." "Well they did Stanley. She's got that huge diamond ring you know," Tiffany said wondering if Stanley knew that Jan had bought the ring for herself. "A lot of women get diamond rings and the man never intends to marry them," he said as Starlene walked into the living room carrying the glass of brandy for her sister. "See you just admitted it yourself Stanley Morgan. I'm not going to be one of those women either. We're going to set the date right now while Tiffany's here to celebrate with us," Starlene said handing Tiffany the glass of brandy. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
