Starlene called out as she painted pink nail polish on her long manicured nails. "Yeah, it's me," Tiffany said taking off her coat and hanging it on the rack beside the door. "Bring me a Coke when you come in would you?" Starlene called as she carefully guided the brush. Tiffany walked into the kitchen and took two cans of Diet Coke from the refrigerator, opened them and walked towards the living room. "Thanks Tiffany," Starlene said carefully taking the can from her sister and noticing the serious expression on her face. "What's the matter? Did you have another bad day at work?" "No. It was a very unusual day though," Tiffany said taking a seat on the sofa beside Starlene as she remembered Skeeter's smile as he walked out of the door a few minutes ago. "Let me guess, Nicole's going to divorce Clark and marry that kid next door," Starlene said laughing at her own humor. "No. I guess the laugh is on me this time," Tiffany said thoughtfully. "You? It's Amir isn't it?" Starlene said referring to her sister's wealthy lover. "No. Amir's still on his island." "They found his wife, didn't they. That's it isn't it?" Starlene said excitedly referring to the wealthy man's wife that had been missing for months. "No. No. It's nothing like that," Tiffany said taking a sip of the Diet Coke then placing the can on the coffee table and reaching down to take off her boots. "I give up, what is it?" "Skeeter came by." "Oh. I guess he's bragging about marrying Jan and all the money he'll have," Starlene said applying polish to her last unpainted fingernail. "No. Exactly the opposite, he wants us to get back together." "Oh how funny. I bet you sent him packing," Starlene said blowing on her wet nails. "No. Not really, I mean we're still legally married Starlene." Starlene glanced up noticing the distant look in Tiffany's eyes. "He came on to you didn't he?" "We talked Starlene." "You don't look like a woman that's just been talkin'." "Well, he kissed me too." "Tiffany!" Starlene said putting the nail polish aside and watching her sister carefully. "Yeah." "Did you kiss him back?" "Yeah, I did." "And what else?" "Nothing. I agreed to go by his apartment tonight, but then when we walked out into the living room, Jan was there." "Oh dear Lordy," Starlene said in her southern accent. "She seemed rather calm actually. I don't think she heard Skeeter and me. I think maybe she had just come in and was surprised to see him there. I don't know." "Jan Morgan wasn't angry?" Starlene said with mockery in her voice. "Yeah," Tiffany said, as realization of what this might mean swept over her face. "Tiffany why would you get involved with Skeeter again?" "I wouldn't have but it's something he said." "What?" "That he never would have become involved with Jan if he'd known that I wasn't going to marry Amir." "So?" "I think maybe our divorce is my fault." "But do you still love him?" "I don't know." "Are you going to his apartment tonight?" "I don't know," Tiffany said as the phone rang on the table beside her. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
