Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday January 13th 2003 Jan stood beside the swinging door of the kitchen to Clark's townhouse. She glanced towards the table in the living room at the picture of Skeeter and her that she'd sent to the newspapers announcing their engagement. She leaned forward slightly to hear the soft voices of Skeeter and his estranged wife Tiffany from behind the doors. "Baby, I told you I never loved Jan," Skeeter said as his fingers fumbled with the zipper on the back of Tiffany's leather skirt. "Stop Skeeter," she said slightly annoyed with his persistence. "Baby, look she bought that big engagement ring and she was the one that announced our engagement. It all happened so fast," he said brushing a strand of long blonde hair from her eyes as they stood face to face at the kitchen sink. "A woman doesn't buy her own engagement ring Skeeter," Tiffany said half-amused with the story. "No and I never thought she'd do something like that either. She kinda roped me in," he said as his hands slid under the back of Tiffany's sweater. "Skeeter are you saying she chased you down?" "Yeah," he said kissing her neck as his hand slid down to her hips pulling her closer to his eager body. "Skeeter why? Why did you let all of this happen?" she said feeling her body weakening after so many lonely nights. "I thought you were in love with Amir. He's got a lot of money, I thought I'd lost you," he said honestly. "I never would have even come to New York if I'd thought you really loved me Skeeter," she said feeling his fingers on the zipper of her skirt again. "It ain't too late Baby," he said in his slow southern accent. "Well, we aren't going to get back together here Skeeter," she said reaching behind her to stop him from unzipping her skirt. "What should I do Baby? Tell me what you want Tiffany, just tell me," he said kissing her neck and pulling her body closer to his. "I don't know anymore Skeeter. It's been a long time," she said honestly. "It's been a long time since you've been held hasn't it Baby," he said pleased with the response. "No, I mean it's been a long time since we separated." "Yeah, but it's just like old times again isn't it?" he asked pulling her a little closer. "Skeeter we have to stop this," she said noticing the time on the clock above the swinging doors. She knew Clark and Nicole wouldn't be gone long. "You afraid Clark will catch you with your husband?" "He and Nicole will be back soon," she said noticing a momentary hesitation in Skeeter's touch when he heard Nicole's name. "I guess you're right." "Skeeter did you have an affair with Nicole?" she asked looking straight into his eyes. "No Baby," he lied kissing her neck to avoid her eyes. "You're sure?" "Yeah, I'm sure," he said remembering the many stolen hours of passion he and Nicole had shared both before and after her marriage to Clark. "I really thought you did." "Well, I guess you were wrong about that." "But you did have an affair with Jan." "Jan came on to me," he said looking her in the eyes. "Why didn't you just tell her no?" "If I'd known I could kiss you like this I would have," he said kissing her fully on the lips. Jan's heart raced as she reached for the swinging doors. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
