Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday January 6th 2003 "Morning Tiffany," Clark said as she closed the door to the townhouse where she worked. "Good morning and happy New Year," Tiffany said taking off her coat and hanging it on the rack in the entrance hall. "Happy New Year to you too. Did you do anything special on New Year's Eve?" Clark asked as he sat on the sofa in the living room going through a recent party proposal he'd put together. "No. I stayed home alone and watched videos." "Oh you mean Amir didn't come over?" he asked referring to her wealthy lover. "No. I told you before I don't see Amir anymore," she said annoyed that she had to constantly defend her relationship with his wealthy client. "You mean you really never see him anymore?" "Well, I saw him once over the holidays but that was all," she confessed afraid he would find out if she lied. "I thought the two of you would surely be together on New Year's Eve night," Clark said. He knew Amir had to be lonely since his wife had been missing for months now. "That would have been nice, but he went back to his island for New Year's. What about you and Nicole?" she asked changing the subject. "Oh it was rather quiet for us too." The front door of the townhouse opened and Greg walked in closing the door behind him. "Greg good morning," Clark said smiling at the young neighbor. "Morning," Greg said glancing towards Tiffany and noticing the stunned look on her face. "Tiffany this is Greg, our next door neighbor," Clark said. "A pleasure," Greg said smiling at Tiffany pretending that they had never met. "Yeah," Tiffany mumbled glancing back and forth from Greg to Clark. "Look Greg, I need for you to go to this address," Clark said taking a piece of paper from his shirt pocket and handing it to Greg. "Okay," Greg said glancing up when he heard Nicole walking down the stairs into the living room. "Hi Honey," Clark said watching his young bride grab her jacket and walk towards the front door to leave. "Hi Greg," Nicole said smiling at her secret lover. "Where are you going Nicole?" Clark asked. "Over to my apartment on Bleecker Street to water the flowers," she said starting to open the front door. "You want Greg to do it for you? He's going downtown to pick up the invoice from the Tribeca Southgate Towers party I did," Clark said. "Oh, no. I'll do it," she said opening the door and walking out into the cold bright January sunshine. "Anything else Clark?" Greg asked taking the piece of paper with the address from Clark and stuffing it into his pocket. "Nope, that's it." "See ya," Greg said walking to the front door and rushing out slamming the door behind him. "What's going on?" Tiffany asked taking a seat at her desk as she watched Clark walk towards the window in the living room. "I just hired this young guy next door to run some errands for me. He's a student and seems eager to work," Clark said watching Nicole and Greg standing at the curb talking intently. "I'm shocked. You never mentioned that you wanted to hire someone to run errands. I didn't think we could afford to hire someone else," Tiffany said. "It was sudden. We can't afford to hire someone else. I just don't trust that guy," Clark said backing away from the window when he saw Nicole turn to look towards the townhouse. "Then why did you hire him?" "To keep an eye on him." CONTINUED TOMORROW.
