Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday January 3rd 2003
"Hay, you", Clark called out as he walked towards the curb where  Greg the young next door neighbor was standing.
Nicole rushed to the window in the living room to look outside. She saw her secret lover Greg pause at the gate of the Mews then quickly hold out his hand pretending to be hailing a cab.
"Hay, you there," Clark called out again.  Nicole's heart raced at the thought of a confrontation between her husband and her young lover.
"You talkin' to me Mister?" Greg asked turning to glance towards Clark.
"Yeah.  Do you live around here?" Clark asked walking towards the young neighbor.
"My Mother and Father live over there," Greg said pointing to the townhouse next door.
"I thought I heard you at my front door."
"Yeah, I was at your front door."
"You were?" Clark asked stunned at the quick confession. He thought he'd heard Nicole arguing with the young man at their door.
"I wanted to see if you needed someone to get the ice off the sidewalk in front of your house," Greg lied glancing towards the window and seeing Nicole staring out at him.
"Oh.  Well, I guess it does need to be done."
"Yeah, if somebody slips they could sue you."
"Yeah, that's true."
"Well, do you need some help with it or not?"
"Well, I don't know," Clark said thinking about the suspicious conversation he had overheard between Nicole and the young man.
"I'm just trying to make some extra money," Greg said seeing the concern on Nicole's face as she watched the two men from the townhouse window.
"Well, sure.  Go ahead," Clark said.
"Okay, do you have a shovel or something I could use?" Greg asked.
"You mean you knocked on my door and wanted to work but you don't have a shovel or anything to do the job with?"
"Well, I've got to get started somehow, right?"
"Yeah, you can use my shovel," Clark said walking towards the front door and opening it.
"Sure. Thanks man.  My name's Greg," he said holding out his hand.
"My name's Clark Masters" Clark said opening the door to the townhouse as the young man followed him inside.
"The shovel is in the back room.  You can just go through the kitchen and open the door out onto the patio," Clark said closing the front door of the townhouse.
"Sure," Greg said starting to walk past Nicole.
"This is my wife Nicole," Clark said watching them closely.
"Hi Nicole," Greg said glancing towards her as their eyes met briefly.
"You know Nicole don't you?" Clark asked suspiciously.
"No," Nicole said quickly.
"Yes," Greg answered at the same moment.
"I mean I've seen him around," Nicole said.
"Yeah, I've seen your wife around," Greg agreed nodding his head at Nicole.
Greg walked towards the back of the living room and started to push open the swinging door to go into the kitchen.
"You know.  I have another idea Greg," Clark said as the young man turned to look at his lover's husband.
