Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday December 9th 2002 Tiffany heard the phone ring on the coffee table of her apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. She turned and started walking towards the living room to answer. She decided she was still too upset over being fired, so she let the answering machine pick up the call. "Hi you've reached the home of Starlene and Tiffany leave a message and we'll get back to you," her sister's voice said on the recording. "Tiffany, this is Amir. I miss you. I call later," her wealthy secret lover said in his broken English. Tiffany ran towards the telephone and quickly picked up the receiver. "Hello," she answered breathless with excitement. "You are there," he said happy to hear the sound of her voice. "Amir! I thought I might not ever hear from you again," she said referring to the fact the police were investigating the disappearance of his wife. His wife Malena vanished one evening months ago while he and Tiffany were secretly meeting on his yacht. "I want to call you yesterday night, but police and FBI come around. I miss you very much." "Oh you will never know how much I have missed you. Have they found out anything about your wife?" "Only this how you say... extremist group say they take her," he said with concern in his voice. "Did they ask for money?" "These things we can not talk on telephone." "Oh sure, of course," she said feeling foolish for asking. "How are you?" "I was okay," she said sighing. "Something is wrong, no? Tell me?" "Clark fired me today." "No. This never happen." "Yes. It's because of his wife Nicole. She's always disliked me." "This girl is problem for everyone," he said knowingly. Nicole had made a few passes at him. "Oh yes. And there's more. I guess you heard that my ex-husband Skeeter is marrying Jan Morgan?" "NO!" "Yes, can you believe this?" "No. Surely this is a mistake." "No, it's true I talked to Skeeter and I can tell it's the truth. He'll probably go through with it because Jan has money." "So many things happen since I speak to you." "Yeah and the getting fired just happened." "Surely Clark change his mind." "Well, I'm sure he won't. I mean his business has been really bad. He blames that on me too you know." "Why?" "Because of my relationship with you." "What?" "Yeah, because you haven't booked any parties for your business lately. He blames me." "I call him." "Oh no. I'll just look for another job." "I call him and how you say... straight this out." "Oh no, but thank you Amir. I'll manage to pay the rent somehow." "You pay no more rent. I call real estate agent and take care of rent," he said referring to the fact that he owned the apartment she and her sister lived in overlooking Washington Square Park. "Oh no. I couldn't allow you to do that." "You have no choice," he said hearing a beeping sound in the phone. "I go now. I call you later," he said nervous that someone was listening to their conversation. "But Amir," she said as he hung up. The phone immediately rang again. She quickly picked it up thinking Amir had called back. "Tiffany could you come by the office, I want to talk to you," Clark said. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
