Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday December 4th 2002 "Skeeter the phone's ringing," Nicole sighed as he reached to unclasp her lacy lingerie while kissing the soft smooth skin of her neck. She had followed Skeeter into the kitchen of his Bleecker Street apartment to get a beer. The two former lovers became involved in a heated conversation about his recent engagement to Jan. Their conversation quickly turned from anger to renewed passion before he could open his beer. "Don't worry 'bout it Baby," he said in his slow southern accent as his adept fingers successfully finished the familiar mission on the clasp of the French lingerie. "Maybe I better come back later when Clark's out of town," she whispered referring to her husband. "Never mind the phone," he said as the answering machine in the kitchen picked up the call. "This is Skeeter Diamond, I'm busy or out now, leave your number," the recording of Skeeter's voice said as he and Nicole paused to listen. "Skeeter this is Tiffany, pick up the phone if you're there," Tiffany said holding the phone and listening intently as she tapped her long nails on the coffee table of her apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. She glanced up and saw her sister Starlene and her older lover Stanley, waving goodbye as they closed the door to leave to go out to dinner. "I better get that she might come over," Skeeter said as he quickly picked up the phone on the kitchen counter next to where Nicole was seated. "Hay," Skeeter said into the phone as the answering machine continued to record their conversation. Skeeter quickly tried to find the button to turn off the volume on the new hi tech machine and realized he would need the manual. He glanced towards Nicole and noticed she had pulled her skirt down as she sat on the counter listening as the machine taped their conversation. "I'm glad I caught you at home Skeeter," Tiffany said. "Yeah, what's up?" he asked regretting that he had lost his moment of passion with Nicole. "That's what I want to know." "Nothing why?" "That's not what I've heard Skeeter." "Look Baby, could I call you back a little later, I was working on some sales reports." "No. I want to talk right now Skeeter! Maybe I should come over there so I can look you in the eyes and maybe get the truth out of you for the first time." "I'm really busy Tiffany, what do you want?" "You know exactly what I want. You know why I've called. I want to know what's going on with you and Jan Morgan." "Oh that," Skeeter said as he watched Nicole jump down from the kitchen counter and start to put on her boots as she listened to both sides of the conversation through the answering machine. "Yes. That! I knew all along that you were sneaking around with her. Why weren't you honest with me Skeeter?" "Look Baby, I knew you wouldn't understand." "You've always cheated on me. It's bad enough that you lied about Jan, but now you've made me lose my job." "Look Tiffany I don't know what you're talking about," he said glancing towards Nicole and watching her shrug her shoulders as if she didn't know or care. "I'm talking about your cheating with my work associate." "Jan?" "Jan for one and Nicole for the other." "Nicole?" he asked smiling and winking at Nicole as she brushed her hair from her eyes and zipped her boots. "Yes. Clark's firing me because I can't stand working for his cheating wife Nicole. She left the office all bent out of shape when she heard that you were marrying Jan." "Really?" he said raising his eyebrows and smiling as Nicole put her hand over her mouth to keep from laughing out loud. "Is that all you have to say? Her other younger boyfriend Greg next door seems more upset than you do." "Who's Greg?" "Why would you care Skeeter if you aren't seeing her?" "I'm, not. You don't have any right calling me and accusing me of stuff either. Just because you got fired you think you can rake me over the coals," he said his voice louder with each word. "Well you would be the only man in the state of New York that isn't seeing Nicole. She's the freest and fastest woman in town. I can't wait to tell Clark about her little boyfriend Greg," Tiffany said slamming down the phone. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
