Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday October 31st 2002
"Is that you Tiffany", Starlene called out when she heard the door close to their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park.
"Yeah, it's me," Tiffany said throwing her coat on the chair by the door and walking towards the living room as her stiletto heels sounded on the hardwood floor.
"Oh man what a movie I just finished watching," Starlene said picking up the remote for the TV from the coffee table and turning down the volume. "What's the matter with you? You look like you just lost your best friend," Starlene said glancing up as she watched her sister take a seat in a nearby chair.
"It's been the worst day of my life," Tiffany said.
"Well, tell me what happened?"
"There was a report on TV that some extremist group might have Amir's wife," Tiffany said realizing she could only tell her sister some of the problems of the day.  She couldn't tell her that Stanley had been at the office and he was fighting with Nicole when Clark came back from Florida. She couldn't tell Starlene that judging from the conversation she overheard between Nicole and Stanley, the relationship was far more serious than anyone had ever known.
"Oh no. I didn't hear that. I've been watching a movie all afternoon."
"They mentioned my name too; as Amir's mistress."
"Oh wow!  What publicity."
"Bad publicity Starlene.  Very bad."
"Well what about the extremist group?"
"They don't know. It's some group that doesn't like immigrants in this country. They seem to think that Amir being a wealthy businessman didn't help."
"Was Amir on TV?"
"Yes and he looked so depressed too," Tiffany said remembering her lover's sad expression.
"Wow, this will make CNN and everything."
"Probably," Tiffany said taking off her shoes and kicking them under the coffee table.
"You should get your hair done."
"My hair done?"
"Yes in case the reporters come over here."
"Oh Starlene, please.  Can't you think about anything else."
"I'm just trying to help you out Tiffany.  If you don't want my advice just tell me," Starlene said obviously upset.
"I'm sorry it's just been too much today."
"Did something else happen to upset you?"
"Clark came home and Nicole acted like I had been hard to get along with while he was gone."
"Did he believe her?"
"I don't know.  I guess so. There was so much going on. Did you hear from Stanley today?"
"Yes.  He's taking me to dinner tonight.  I have to get ready soon."
"That's nice," Tiffany said wondering if Stanley would tell her sister that he'd been at the office today.
"I think tonight will be the night," Starlene said jumping up from the sofa.
"What do you mean?'"
"I think we'll set the date.  I talked to Stanley on the phone this afternoon and he seems weakened.  I think he's ready," Starlene said smiling as she walked towards the bedroom to get ready for her dinner date with her wealthy older lover.
"Did he mention that he came by the office today?" Tiffany asked taking a deep breath to calm her nerves.
