Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday October 25th 2002
"Nicki", Clark said as his new bride opened the door to the townhouse and walked in out of the pouring rain.
"Clark what the hell are you doing home?" she asked angrily slamming the front door closed and glancing out of the window to watch Stanley's limo pulling away from the curb.
"What kind of greeting is that for your husband?" he said unbuttoning her wet raincoat.
"I'm sorry," she said relieved to see Stanley's car round the corner and leave her sight.
"You're soaked honey," he said taking her coat and shaking the rain out.
"Yeah.  When did you get back Clark?" she asked glancing towards Tiffany's face hoping to get a read of the situation from Clark's secretary.
"A few minutes ago.  How was the call?" he asked referring to the lie Nicole had instructed Tiffany to tell if he telephoned while she was out with Stanley.
"Call?"
"The sales call.  Tiffany said you went on a sales call," he said kissing her on the cheek and pushing her wet hair from her pretty young face.
"Oh, that.  Well, they weren't in."
"After you went out in this weather," he said admiring her figure in the wet clinging white blouse she was wearing.
"Oh Nicki I hope getting wet doesn't make you sick," he said glancing down at the puddle of water she was standing in. "Tiffany make Nicole some hot chocolate would you?" Clark asked watching Nicole take off her wet shoes.
"Sure," Tiffany said getting up from her desk and walking through the swinging doors towards the kitchen.  She turned on the water in the kettle and opened the cabinet door taking out the hot chocolate mix.  She emptied a packet in a mug and tiptoed back towards the doors to listen to their conversation.
"I've missed you so much Nicki," Clark said watching her take off her wet panty hose and throw them next to her wet shoes.
"Yeah, me too," she said never looking at him.
"Really, did you miss me?"
"Well, sure," she lied.
"Good.  My God you look great soakin' wet.  I've been just dying to get home to you," he said his eyes filled with love and lust.
"Yeah," she said wondering if Stanley would come back to continue their argument.  It wasn't like the older man to let anyone get the last word.  She glanced down at her watch and thought about Greg the handsome neighbor that was supposed to stop by any minute now. 
"Are you surprised to see me home early?" he asked watching her take her compact from her purse and wipe the smeared mascara from under her eyes.
"Yeah, real surprised. Why didn't you tell me you were coming home?" she asked wondering if he had somehow known about some of her indiscretions.
"You should have known I'd come back now."
"Why?"
"After our phone call last night and what you told me.  It's time."
"What are you talking about?" she asked annoyed with the way her entire day was turning out.
"It's that time of the month.  We might be lucky this time. Come on honey. I'll get the hot chocolate and bring it up to the bedroom." He turned and started towards the kitchen then stopped when the front door of the townhouse opened.
