Tiffany asked as Clark shook his raincoat off and hung it in the closet beside the front door. "Oh it was great. You know Nicole's Father is such a great host. We went to the finest restaurants every night while I was there. That man knows everyone. I think I'll be going back to do a few parties over the holidays for him," Clark said referring to Nicole's mob boss father. "Nice," Tiffany said looking down at her appointment book hoping to avoid a conversation with her boss. Clark's new bride Nicole had just left the townhouse after a heated argument with Stanley. The townhouse had been like Grand Central Station the entire time Clark had been out of town. Just this morning the handsome neighbor Greg had been upstairs in the bedroom with Nicole. Then Tiffany's sister's lover Stanley had stopped by unannounced. Stanley went upstairs to break the news to Nicole that he had let the lease on a Fifth Avenue apartment slide that Nicole wanted him to secretly get for her. He had tried to explain that he had to after Starlene had found the lease. That had caused a heated argument. Tiffany glanced up to see Clark placing his suitcases near the stairs. She couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He wanted a family so much and if he knew what she had just overheard about his new bride he would be crushed. "Man it's really pouring out there. I wish Nicki hadn't bothered to go out and try to drum up business on a day like today," he said referring to the lie that Nicole had instructed Tiffany to tell him if he telephoned. Nicole surely would have some explaining to do when she came home. "Yeah, it's really comin' down," Tiffany said. "How are things with you?" Clark asked walking towards her desk. "Oh, okay." "Any word on Amir's missing wife?" he asked referring to Tiffany's wealthy lover and his wife that had disappeared after coming out of a long coma. "No. I never hear anything Clark. I told you before it's over with Amir and me," Tiffany said feeling the familiar emptiness in her heart. "Well that's for the best Tiffany," he said taking a seat in the chair in front of her desk. "I guess." "Yeah. You don't need to be involved with a married man. You know it's just morally wrong." "Yeah," Tiffany said wondering what he would say if he knew about Nicole. "Did you and Nicki get along okay while I was gone?" "Just fine. Yeah, just fine," she lied. "Good. I know Nicki is under a lot of stress right now," he said picking a piece of lint from his trousers. "Really?" Tiffany asked wondering what kind of stress he thought his new bride was going through. "Yeah. I mean she's young and we just got married. I've been putting a little pressure on her too," he confessed. "Really?" "Yeah, I've been insisting that we go ahead and start a family. She doesn't want to, but I've been insisting." "Oh." "Yeah. Well, I guess it's a little out of place for me to be telling you this kind of thing. I mean I know it's hard for you," Clark said wondering if Tiffany had overheard their passion upstairs during the workday. "A little," Tiffany said wishing she could tell him exactly how hard this was for her. "It's not a big house and I know you probably overhear some of our conversations and stuff," he said his face turning red. "No, not really," she lied. "Good. I hope Nicole gets here soon." "Did she know you were coming home?" "No. I'm going to surprise her. Oh look I see her coming now," he said as his face lit up at the sight of Nicole passing by the living room window. Tiffany glanced up and saw Nicole's wet hair and clothes as she rushed towards the front door of the townhouse with a frown on her face. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
