I have to get back to the office Skeeter. Are you coming back in this afternoon?" Denise asked picking the sheet up off of the floor and tossing it back onto Skeeter's bed. "No, Baby... just cover for me at the office. Would you? You've worn me out," he said in his slow southern accent smiling as she walked towards the bathroom of his Bleecker Street apartment. "You know I'll cover for you anytime. You don't think anyone will ever find out about today do you?" she asked turning to look at him before closing the bathroom door. "I'll never tell, will you?" he asked admiring her firm young body as she stood in the doorway. "No. I don't want to lose my job." "You haven't got anything to worry about Baby. I'll never tell," he said watching her close the door. He listened as the water turned on in the bathroom. He reached for his beer on the table beside the bed when the phone rang. "Hello," he answered after taking a long sip of his beer. "Skeeter. Are you busy?" Jan asked. "Not too much," he said listening to the water in the shower. "I've been thinking about something." "What's that Baby?" "It's time for us to come out in the open with our relationship." "Right. I'm sure your old man would kill you if he knew you've been with me," he said knowing her wealthy father wouldn't be happy if he knew she'd been secretly seeing him. "Well, I think it's time. We've been together for years now. I'm tired of sneaking around," she said tapping her long manicured nails on her Father's desk in his Upper East Side mansion. "What makes you so eager all of a sudden? I mean you went to Europe a few weeks ago and never invited me. Now all of a sudden you come home and want to make some kinda' announcement or something." "It's time," she said picking up the stack of financial papers from her Father's desk and glancing through them again. "You know your old man would disown you for seeing a man like me that doesn't have any money." "I've told you Skeeter I've got most of the money put into my name," she lied. "So you don't think marrying me would leave you high and dry?" "Father's always wanted me to get married Skeeter." "But to a poor man like me?" "I think we need to talk Skeeter." "Well, okay Baby. Maybe we'll go out to dinner." "No. I have this idea. I'll come over there." "I have to get back to work this afternoon." "I'll call the office and tell Bob to give you the afternoon off," she said referring to his boss and her close friend. "No. I mean. I need to work. I haven't been turning in many orders lately," he said referring to his job as a salesman for the Lingerie Company. "Skeeter. Don't worry about the job I said." "That's easy for you to say, Bob's your friend, but he's my boss." "What if you owned your own company?" "That would be great." "Well if we were married you could." she said glancing down at her Father's 'Last Will and Testament.' "Well that would be real nice," he said as he watched Denise walk out of his bathroom wrapped in a towel. She smiled at him and nodded that she understood when he placed his fingers over his lips motioning for her to be quiet while he talked. He watched as Denise dropped the towel on the floor to pick up her clothes from the chair. "That's nice… real nice," he said into the phone smiling broadly as Denise glanced up to see him staring at her. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
