Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday October 7th 2002 "Tiffany do me a little favor would you?" Stanley asked walking towards her desk in the townhouse where she worked. "Sure what Stanley?" she asked as she heard the water turn off in the shower upstairs. She knew Nicole had finished her shower and would be back downstairs in a few minutes. She couldn't figure out why her sister's boyfriend Stanley had stopped by as soon as her boss Clark left to go out of town. She had overheard Stanley and Nicole talking when she was in the kitchen. She could tell from the conversation that Stanley's visit was planned for when Nicole's husband was out of town. She wondered too if this had anything to do with the call from Nicole's doctor's office the other day with results of a pregnancy test that Nicole had secretly taken. Stanley and Nicole had been caught together in the past and it was entirely possible Stanley was a very worried man right now. There was also the matter of seeing Nicole with a large sum of money that Stanley had handed her on the sly just before she walked into the living room. "Don't say anything to your sister Starlene about me stopping by," he said walking towards her desk with the cup of coffee she had made him. "Stanley, I know it's not any of my business…" she hesitated watching him closely. "You want to know why I'm here?" "Yeah. I mean Starlene will find out and then she'll be furious with me if I lie about it," Tiffany said pleadingly. "I promised Nicole that I'd help her find an apartment for a friend of hers," he said in a hushed voice. "An apartment?" "Yeah, she has a friend that's got some problems and she needs to find them an apartment." "That's it?" "Yeah." "Well why wouldn't you want Starlene to know?" "Tiffany you know that Starlene caught Nicole and me on the sofa in my office that time," he said taking a seat at her desk. "Yeah." "Well, it wasn't really that much to what Starlene saw," he lied. "You mean you weren't really, you know..." She said raising her eyebrows as she remembered the detailed description her sister had given her of the intimate scene that she had witnessed. "Well, it was. What can I say Tiffany? I'm a man and Nicole threw herself on me. Nicole's a nice girl, she just has some urges that she can't seem to control." "Oh, is that what causes this?" Tiffany said unable to hold back a small laugh. "It's true Tiffany. She's so resentful of her Father. He's a very powerful man and that's caused her to do these things." "Starlene told me that her Father threatened you when he found out about you being with her," Tiffany said remembering how concerned Starlene was that the mob would kill Stanley if she didn't kill him first. "That's another reason I want you to keep this to yourself," he said. "Can't Nicole call a real estate agent and have them find her friend an apartment?" "Then they would be calling her and Clark would get wind of it. See?" he said raising his eyebrows as if she would surely see things his way. "Well, why doesn't she just tell Clark her friend is in trouble and maybe he'd help him or her?" "Well, I wondered myself. She says Clark doesn't approve of this friend and he wouldn't give her the money to help this friend out. She says she can't possibly go to her Father. I'm the only person she has left to depend on." "Oh. I see. Well, did you find a place for her friend?" "I gave her some leads. We are going to look at a few of them today while Clark's gone." "What kind of trouble is her friend in?" Tiffany asked. "I didn't ask Tiffany. Sometimes in these matters it's better not to know," he said smiling as he watched Nicole walk down the stairs in a short skirt and tight sweater. "You ready Stanley?" she asked walking towards him. "Yeah. Tiffany's going to help us to keep this quiet. I told you we could trust her," he said standing up and walking towards the front door where Nicole stood waiting for him. "Thanks Tiffany. I'm glad you're working here. I'll see to it that you're rewarded," Nicole said smiling broadly. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
