Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday October 4th 2002 "Don't hesitate to call me if anything comes up", Clark said walking towards the front door with his suitcase. "Tell Nicole I'll call her as soon as I arrive in Florida," he said putting his suitcase down on the floor and opening the front door to leave. "Is she here?" Tiffany asked having just arrived at work. She was surprised to see her boss leaving for his trip to Florida so early in the morning. "Yeah, she said she was going to stay in bed. I think she has a headache," he said. "Oh. Okay," Tiffany said wondering if Nicole had morning sickness. She was very suspicious that Nicole was pregnant after the doctor's office had called with test results yesterday. Yesterday she had questioned Clark about the possibility without telling him about the call. He assured her that they weren't trying until after a year of marriage. Nicole had left after the doctor called and didn't come back in until after Tiffany had left for the evening. "She doesn't have anything to do today, so just let her sleep." "Sure," Tiffany said as he closed the door and walked towards the waiting limo at the corner of MacDougal Street. Tiffany heard the shower turn on upstairs and she knew that Nicole wasn't in bed but waiting for her husband to leave. Tiffany turned on her computer and started writing a letter to one of the past due accounts. A few minutes later she heard the front door of the townhouse open. She glanced up to see her sister's lover Stanley closing the door. "Stanley what a surprise to see you here," Tiffany said. "Hi Tiffany. How have you been?" "Fine. You know Clark left for Florida, you just missed him." "Oh well. Do you have any coffee?" "Sure," Tiffany said getting up and walking towards the kitchen to get him a cup of coffee. She pushed open the swinging doors to the kitchen and noticed there wasn't any coffee made. Clark must have gotten up late and never made coffee. She walked back towards the living room and pushed open the door. "There isn't any coffee made. It would take me a few minutes to make some, do you want me to make it?" she said standing in the doorway waiting for his answer. "Yes, just take your time," he said glancing out of the window of the townhouse as if in deep thought. "Okay, make yourself at home," Tiffany said walking back into the kitchen and turning on the water filling the coffeepot. She thought she heard Stanley's voice in the living room. She tiptoed towards the swinging door and stood close to listen. "You're early," she heard Nicole's voice saying. "Yeah. I didn't want you to have to wait." "Has he gone?" "He just left," Nicole said. "Does he know?" "Of course not." "Good. Here," Stanley said. Tiffany struggled to hear over the sound of the coffeepot brewing. The phone on Tiffany's desk in the living room started to ring. Tiffany knew she had to go back into the living room to answer the phone and interrupt their conversation. She cleared her throat and pushed open the swinging doors. She saw Nicole walking towards the window of the living room as Stanley watched her. "Morning Nicole," Tiffany said over the ringing of the phone as she saw Nicole standing near the living room window dressed only in a transparent sheer robe. "Morning Tiffany," Nicole said never smiling as she clutched an envelope that Stanley had given her. Tiffany picked up the ringing phone on her desk "Manhattan Party Planning," she answered. She glanced up to see that Nicole was looking inside the envelope. Tiffany could see the envelope contained a lot of cash. "No we use Clear Mountain Water Filter Systems. Our office isn't interested in changing," Tiffany said hanging up the phone on the tele-marketers. "Do you want some coffee too Nicole?" Tiffany asked as she watched Clark's new bride walk towards the stairs to go up. "No. I'm going to shower and go out for a while today. Just give Stanley some coffee while he waits for me," Nicole said expressionless as she walked up the stairs and out of sight. "You're going with her?" Tiffany asked as she watched Stanley take a seat on the sofa and glance nervously at his expensive wristwatch. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
