Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday September 27th 2002
Tiffany took a sip of her morning coffee and placed the mug on her desk.  She started sorting through the morning mail when the phone on her desk rang.
"Manhattan Party Planning," she answered as she opened an envelope containing a check for a party her boss had coordinated a few months ago.
"How wonderful to hear your voice," her lover Amir said in his broken English.
"Oh my God.  I've been dying to talk to you," she said dropping the letter opener on the desk.
"I want to call but there never is how you say…opportunity."
"What's happened?  Starlene and I caught the end of a report on TV. Is there news on your missing wife?"
"I find a note in her bedroom."
"A note?  From her?"
"No this note from someone that want money."
"Oh a ransom note?"
"Police don't know.  They say because I have many business dealings someone try to... how you say…capitalize on this situation."
"Oh.  Who do they think wrote the note Amir?"
"They say possibly the Mafia write this note."
"Oh my God! I know you are shocked."
"No. I think this could be case of Mafia."
"Why? Why do you say that?"
"I have waterfront property they want to buy."
"You never told me that."
"Many times business man from Florida tries to buy my property.  I never sell this property."
"You mean where you keep your yacht?"
"Yes. We talk more of this later, not on telephone. I never know who listen.  How are you?" he asked changing the subject.
"Okay.  I'm okay.  I want to try and find another job soon."
"You have problem?"
"Clark left for Florida this morning, but I hate working here since he married Nicole.  She wanted me fired. Clark had even decided that since you weren't keeping Jan really busy these days maybe she would help him out while he was out of town and he would let me go. Then Nicole decided that she didn't want to work with Jan while Clark's gone so I wasn't fired.  I mean after four years, it's getting worse.  Starlene and I even saw her coming out of Skeeter's apartment building. I'm not sure that she isn't seeing my ex-husband."
"Surely she never do this," he said shocked.
"Oh yes she would. I think she has a problem.  She just can't stop herself. She and Clark go upstairs and you should hear them."
"They argue?"
"Oh no! The opposite! They go at it so hard the bed almost goes through the wall," Tiffany said laughing.
"You are jealous of this, no?"
"Yes!  I wish it were us," she said laughing.
"Soon"
"Aren't you afraid we'll be seen together?" she asked feeling warm all over at the thought of being alone with her secret lover once again.
"I take care of this.  I miss you my love," he said.
"I miss you too," she said as the other line of the phone rang.  "I have to get this, hold on Amir," she said hitting the button on the phone.
"Manhattan Party Planning," she answered.
"Mrs. Nicole Masters," the woman on the phone asked. Tiffany glanced up and was surprised to see Nicole standing outside of the window of the townhouse talking with the handsome young man that lives in the next building.
"Yes," Tiffany mumbled distracted as her eyes watched Nicole move so close to the man that her bosom was resting on his arm as she smiled and whispered something into his ear.
"This is the nurse at Doctor Lawson's office. Nicole I see that you left instructions for us to call you with the results of your pregnancy test when it comes in. Well dear, we have the news you've waited for," the nurse said.
