"Nicki how do you like being a married woman?"  Stanley asked as he held the phone in one hand and his cigar in the other.
"I don't know.  It's not as much fun as I thought it would be," Nicole said reading a note that her groom Clark had left on the bedside table of their townhouse in Greenwich Village.
"You haven't been married but a couple of weeks and you already sound disgusted," Stanley said propping his feet up on the credenza of his office in the Empire State Building.
"It's not as exciting as I thought it would be," she said crumbling up the daily love note. She picked up her silk nightshirt from the floor and threw it onto the bed where she was seated.
"Clark isn't good to you?"
"Yeah, he's good to me.  Maybe he's too good to me."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean he's always telling me how happy he is…it just makes me want to throw up."
"Gee, that doesn't sound like married bliss to me," Stanley said laughing as he remembered their last secret rendezvous at the Plaza Hotel right before she got married.
"I just thought we'd get married and that would get Daddy off my back for a while."
"What's wrong? Your father causing you problems?" Stanley asked as a familiar fear raced through his body.  Her father had found out that he had an affair with the young girl and had threatened him.  A bad relationship with her mob boss father wasn't something he'd expected when he first became involved with her.
"Daddy wants Clark and me to move to Florida."
"Really?"
"Yeah.  I thought that if I married Clark he'd think of me as settled here in New York and stay out of my life."
"So you could have fun without him bothering you."
"Exactly.  Now it looks like I have even more trouble. I've got Clark hanging around all the time and Daddy controlling Clark to get to me."
"Sounds like you haven't had any opportunities to get out and have any fun since your honeymoon."
"Maybe a few," she said thinking about the hours she had spent with Tiffany's estranged husband Skeeter in his Bleecker Street apartment.
"Really.  Is it someone I know?"
"Never mind.  Just a little fling, something to keep me going. What about you are you having any fun?  You going to marry Starlene?" she asked referring to Tiffany's sister.
"Nope.  I know better. Remember I was married years ago.  I've got a grown daughter why would I want to ruin my life?"
"Starlene thinks you'll marry her doesn't she?"
"Come on Nicki.  You led Clark to believe you're in love. What's the difference?"
"None I guess.  Did you know Starlene's a little snoop Stanley?"
"What are you talking about?"
"I saw Starlene when I was looking at some property over on Bleecker Street for my Father.  She accused me of being in the apartment with her sister Tiffany's ex-husband Skeeter just because he lives there."
"Where you with him?" Stanley asked.
"Do you care?" she asked thinking about the passionate encounter with Skeeter yesterday in his apartment.
"Yeah. If you get a few minutes away from Clark I want you to spend them with me," Stanley said feeling aroused at the thought of being alone with her again now that she was married.
"Want to get together today?" she asked.
