Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday September 13th 2002 Skeeter opened the door of his apartment on Bleecker Street. "Well, hi Baby," he said smiling as Jan walked through the door dressed in an expensive designer suit. "Hello Skeeter. Did you miss me?" she asked as he kissed her on the cheek before closing the door. "Yeah. Man it's been a long time. How was Europe?" He said in his slow southern accent. "Great. It was really nice to be away," she said walking towards his futon sofa and taking a seat. "Want something to drink?" "Sure. Do you have any wine?" "No. I only have a couple of beers." "Then just forget it. Maybe we'll go over to my house and have dinner a little later." "Well, maybe. Although I was supposed to go to a business meeting a little later," he lied thinking about the new secretary at work. He hoped Denise would call him and he could persuade her to come over later this evening. It was hard to get any work done in the office with a new girl around. "I bought something that I want to try on for you after we catch up some," Jan said opening her purse and taking out a small red silk teddy. "Nice," he said as she held it up by the thin straps to show him. "You have missed me haven't you Skeeter?" "Sure baby." "There's been a lot of news since I went to Europe," she said tossing the teddy on the arm of the futon and looking him in the eyes. "Yeah some." "Amir's wife is missing," she said referring to her boss and his estranged wife's secret lover. "Yeah. That's been all over the news." "Do you think she's dead?" "Probably. It's not my problem though. That's his problem." "Yeah. He's really upset over it." "He wasn't so upset that he didn't go over to Tiffany's apartment the other day." "How do you know?" "I stopped by there and heard his voice in her bedroom." "Are you the one that called the reporters that showed up and caught him leaving her building?" "Yeap, but don't tell him. I'd just deny it," he said proud of himself. "I won't tell him. He's got so much on his mind these days. We hardly ever talk. I'm not going to be working much with him anyway. I'm going to be working at Clark's while he's in Florida," she said watching him closely for his reaction. "Oh really?" "Yeah. What a surprise that Clark and Nicole got married. Huh?" "I hope they're happy," he said avoiding her eyes. "Skeeter you aren't still seeing Nicole. Are you?" "No. She's married, like you said." "Yes I just saw Clark. I think I'll be giving them a shower." "It's a little late for that, they're already married." "No. A baby shower," she said pleased with the shock she saw on his face. "Baby?" "Yeah. Everyone's getting married except for us. Maybe we should get married too," she said. "You'd want to marry somebody like me? I don't have any money," Skeeter said eyeing her suspiciously. "I do and plenty of it." "Your Father wouldn't be too happy about that." "He's engaged to Starlene, she's totally inappropriate. Clark married Nicole and she's not appropriate for anyone. Why shouldn't I do whatever I want." "Your old man wouldn't dry up the money?" he asked smiling. "No. I've taken care of it. Most of the money is in my name now," she lied. "Why don't you try that on for me Baby. I've really missed you," he said pulling her closer to him. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
