Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday September 10th 2002 Nicole walked into the townhouse on MacDougal Street and closed the door. She stopped when she saw Jan seated on the sofa beside her new groom Clark. "Hi Nicole," Jan said putting some papers back into her briefcase and closing it. "Hi," Nicole said as Clark got up from the sofa and walked towards his bride. "Honey, did you get your plants watered and everything taken care of at your apartment?" he asked. "Yeah. It's all done," she said remembering the hour she had just spent in her secret lover Skeeter's apartment on Bleecker Street and the passion they had shared. "You look tired Nicki," Clark said kissing her on the cheek and pulling her close to him. "It's hot out there," she said pulling away from him. "Well, I was just leaving," Jan said standing up and starting towards the front door where the newlyweds were standing. "Thanks for coming by Jan. I'll give you a call as soon as I know when Nicki and I are leaving for Florida," Clark said. "Great," Jan said. "Florida?" Nicole asked stepping to the side so that Clark's hand wouldn't be touching her waist any longer. "Yeah. I thought we'd go down and stay with your Father a while. Jan will handle my party planning business while I'm gone." "Jan?" "Yeah. You know…because of the situation with Tiffany and everything," he said referring to the fact that Nicole had asked him to fire Tiffany. "Jan's willing to take over. That way I can spend time getting to know your Father better and start on some of the business he's going to hook me up with in Florida," Clark said pleased that he would be expanding his business through his new family connections. "I don't want to go to Florida, Clark," Nicole said. "It'll be fun Honey. Maybe we'll get lucky and give your Daddy a big surprise while we're down there," Clark said grinning broadly as his face reddened. "What?" Nicole asked irritated. "You know honey. Maybe we'll make him a grandfather. That's what he's always wanted. Think how wonderful that would be if it happened while we were down there with him," Clark said. "Oh God," Nicole said. "I think I'm going to be sick," she said walking past him towards the kitchen. "I take it she's not too happy about the idea," Jan said opening the front door to leave. "She'll adjust. I wonder if she's sick?" he said thoughtfully. "Maybe she already is…" he said turning to look towards the kitchen as Nicole threw her purse on the table and hit the swinging doors to go into the kitchen. "I hope I'm the first one to know Clark. If Nicole's pregnant I want to give you a big shower," Jan said realizing this kind of event would surely stop Nicole from ever seeing her Father Stanley again. Most importantly she hadn't seen her secret lover Skeeter since she'd come home from her trip abroad. She knew he had been with Nicole before she got married. If Nicole got pregnant she would never have to worry about that again either. "Oh how sweet of you Jan," Clark said. "You'll be the first to know when it happens. I'm trying," he said remembering their honeymoon. "Clark I want to talk to you," Nicole called out from the kitchen. "Sure honey," Clark said as he watched Jan walk out the door of the townhouse. "Thanks for stopping by Jan. I'm so relieved to know you'll handle my business while I'm gone. Someone I can trust," he said smiling. "No problem," Jan said. "Right now Clark!" Nicole yelled from the kitchen. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
