Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday September 5th 2002
"Who was that?"  Nicole asked.  She watched Skeeter hang up the phone in his bedroom of his Bleecker Street apartment.
"Tiffany," he said thoughtfully referring to his estranged wife.
"Really?  Why did she call you?" She asked walking towards the bed still wrapped in a towel having just stepped out of the shower.  She had called out from the bathroom asking Skeeter if her husband Clark had called when she heard the phone ringing.  She was surprised to find Skeeter talking on the phone with her husband's secretary and Skeeter's estranged wife, Tiffany.
"She thinks I called the press the other night after I stopped by her apartment and heard Amir's voice in her bedroom."
"Did you call the press?" Nicole asked smiling.
"Yeah.  It just makes me furious that she's still seeing that married foreigner."
"I can tell you that Clark was really angry with her when he heard the reports."
"Why? He knew that she'd been seeing him before."
"Yeah.  But Skeeter it's different now."
"How's that?"
"Amir's wife came out of the coma and moved back to New York.  Now Amir's wife is missing and he's over at your wife's apartment," Nicole said raising her eyebrows.
"Makes Tiffany look like a tramp."
"Yes it does.  It's also not good for Clark's business either."
"He liked the publicity before and it seemed to help his business."
"Then it was exciting. Now his wife might be dead. It's not sexy publicity anymore."
"It's not my fault."
"I know," she said watching his face closely. "Look don't worry about it.  I mean unless you're still in love with Tiffany or something like that."
"No.  I'm not in love with her. Can't you tell after what we just did?" he asked admiring her legs as she stood before him wrapped in a damp towel. "Come over here Baby.  We got a little more time," he said smiling.
"No.  I have to call Clark.  I don't want him calling my apartment and wondering where I've been for the last hour.
"Call him and tell him you're going shopping. Then we could order some Chinese after you take another shower," he said reaching for the towel and tugging it gently on the bottom.
"Let me call and see what he's doing," she said walking towards the chair and picking up her purse. She opened her purse and took out her cell phone. She hit speed dial and took a seat on the bed beside Skeeter as she listened to the phone ring.
"Manhattan Party Planning", Jan answered.
"Jan. You're there with Clark?"
"Yes, Clark and I are going over some business."
"Put my husband on the phone."
"Sure Nicole," Jan said hitting the hold button and motioning for Clark to pick up.
"Hi honey," Clark said.
"I didn't know Jan was with you," Nicole said.
"Yeah.  She and I are going over some business."
"I hate Jan," Nicole said glancing towards Skeeter.  She wondered if Skeeter had known that Jan was back from her trip abroad.  He never mentioned it to her and Jan had been his secret lover for years before he became involved with her.
"Someone's got to take care of this business while we're in Florida," Clark said smiling at Jan as she turned the pages of Tiffany's appointment book.
"Did you fire Tiffany?"  Nicole asked as she noticed Skeeter watching her closely.
"Not yet."
"Are you going to?"
"Do you want me to?" Clark asked.
