Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday September 2nd 2002 Tiffany picked up her purse and started towards the door of the townhouse to leave for lunch. She had made up her mind to go to her estranged husband Skeeter's apartment and confront him. She just knew in her heart that Skeeter called the TV reporters the other day when he stopped by her apartment and overheard her secret lover Amir's voice in the other room. Skeeter had always been jealous of the wealthy foreigner and what better way to punish her. Now her boss Clark was probably going to fire her over seeing reports on TV of his client Amir leaving her apartment. The front door of the townhouse opened and her worst enemy walked in. "Jan, how are you?" Tiffany said forcing a smile as she watched the well-dressed daughter of Stanley Morgan close the door and walk towards her desk. "Wonderful," she said taking off her suit jacket and placing it on the sofa. "Did you have a nice trip abroad?" "It was perfectly lovely. I hear that you've been very busy while I was gone," Jan said smiling viciously. "Just working," Tiffany said trying to brush aside the attack. "Oh. I see you've been doing much more than working. I heard all about Amir's wife missing. Then I saw the coverage on the news the other night when he was leaving your apartment building. You're still trying to hook yourself a rich man aren't you?" "I resent that Jan." "Oh. Excuse me. You resent me telling the truth. Come on Tiffany. Clark told you when he hired you that he had a lot of rich clients. He also told you that if you became involved with any of his clients you'd be fired. So the first thing you do is go after Amir. I think that's why you wanted a job at a party planning business. This suited your needs perfectly," she said pouring a glass of sherry from the decanter on the coffee table. "How dare you talk to me that way," Tiffany said as tears came to her eyes. "Let's face it Tiffany. Why else would you still be involved with Amir after all of this time if it weren't for his money," she said taking a sip of her brandy. "That's very insulting." "Oh. Is it? I guess his poor wife must have felt insulted too." "Stop it!" Tiffany said starting to walk past her towards the front door to leave. "Now that Amir's wife is missing I guess you think you're home free. I mean especially since you've managed to hang on to your job here through all of this," Jan said pausing when she heard Clark's footsteps coming down the stairway. "I think the summer heat has cooked your brain Jan Morgan," Tiffany said as she started to walk past her. "Jan! How nice it is to see you again," Clark said as he walked down the stairs towards the two women. "I'm glad that someone here is pleased to see me," she said glancing towards Tiffany. "Tiffany I thought you were going to lunch?" he asked walking past Tiffany to kiss Jan on the cheek. "I was when Jan came in." "Please don't let me stop you Tiffany. Clark and I have a lot to go over. Why don't you take the afternoon off," Jan said taking another sip of her sherry. "I have work to do here. Clark is my boss," Tiffany said feeling her face burning with humiliation. "Do as Jan says Tiffany," Clark said opening the door for Tiffany to leave. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
