Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday August 28th 2002 "Tiffany this report just makes it look horrible for you," Clark said as he turned off the TV and walked towards the window of his townhouse on MacDougal Alley. "I'm sorry Clark," she said still shocked to see the tape of her secret lover Amir on TV as he left her apartment building last night. "I thought you weren't seeing Amir." "Well, he stopped by for a few minutes last night," she confessed as she remembered the hours of passion they had shared before her estranged husband Skeeter came to the door. "Did anyone see him while he was there at your apartment?" "Well, Skeeter stopped by." "Skeeter!" Clark said turning to stare at her in shock. "Yes," she said looking down to avoid his eyes. "Why would Skeeter stop by?" "I don't know Clark. I have no idea." "Did he know that Amir was there?" "I think so." "My God. The last time Skeeter came near your building and Amir was there, Amir landed in the hospital and Skeeter was put in jail!" "And Amir has a restraining order against Skeeter now," she said. "Do you think that's why he didn't cause trouble?" "Yeah. That and the fact that I told him that Amir's bodyguard was on his way up to the apartment." "My God. Did he see Amir there?" "No. He heard his voice and a delivery guy was there with our dinner." "Dinner? I thought you said he only stopped by?" "Well, yeah. He did. We just had dinner together," she said embarrassed to be caught in a lie. "Oh Tiffany this isn't going to work out. You know this looks horrible for you. I mean Amir's wife is missing and you've been seen with him in the past. The police are going to start thinking you had some thing to do with her disappearance." "No. No one would ever think that!" she said feeling tears of shame coming to her eyes. "Well, if I didn't know you better... I might think that," he said his voice becoming louder as the implications of what could happen started to dawn on him. "I don't think that anyone would ever think that of me. I can't believe that you would say that Clark," she said as tears started to roll down her warm cheeks. "I have to tell you what it looks like Tiffany. This is making it very difficult on me. I mean I just got married. Nicole and I will be going to Florida a lot. I don't want to have to worry about this kind of thing while we're gone." "You won't have to worry about anything. I won't be ever seeing Amir again," she said as her voice broke and she reached across her desk for a Kleenex. "You've said that before. I don't think you can stop yourself Tiffany," he said starting to pace the floor. "I can't believe this Clark. I can't believe you're being this way," she said shaking her head as she wiped her tear-stained face. "I told you when I hired you years ago that if you became involved with my clients that I would fire you. Do you remember that Tiffany?" he said pointing his finger at her. "Yes. But that was a long time ago. You said the publicity had been good for your business the last time the press reported stories of me and Amir." "That was before his wife was out of her coma and here in this country; before she turned up missing or worse yet dead!" he said staring at her coldly. "God, how could you be like this?" "I have a business to take care of. I have a wife to think about now," he said turning and walking towards the stairs to go up to his office. "I'm sorry," Tiffany mumbled. "Things will have to change," he said as he raced up the steps to his office and slammed the door. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
