Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday August 16th 2002 "Amir…did you hear?" Tiffany started to ask her lover if he heard anything. She quickly forgot her question as his lips covered hers. The rhythm of his passion became so urgent she quickly forgot that she thought she had heard a noise. The buzzer in the living room of her apartment overlooking Washington Square Park rang again. "Amir…. I know I heard the door," she said breathlessly as his head fell back on the pillow. She quickly got out of the bed and picked up her robe where it had fallen on the floor only a few minutes ago. "I told you ten minutes we never waste again," he said in his broken English as he watched her pull the sheer silk robe around her. "We have to stop to eat," she said smiling as she tied the belt on her robe. "Then we have dessert," he said getting out of the bed and starting to walk towards her bathroom. "Don't you have to go home?" "No," he said. "Home very lonely place." He felt the familiar sorrow overcome him again as he remembered his missing wife and the misery that had consumed him in recent days. The buzzer sounded in the living once again, then three short sounds afterwards. "Alright, alright already," Tiffany said walking towards the living room to answer the buzzer. She walked towards the intercom when she heard a knock on the door. She quickly walked over to her purse and opened it. She opened her wallet and was surprised to see she didn't have any cash. She heard the water in the shower turn on. She had charged the cost of the food and wine but she only had a hand full of small change. The deliveryman would have to wait for a tip until Amir got out of the shower or settle for what looked like only a dollar in change. She heard the knock on the door then the doorbell rang again. "Coming. Just a minute," she called out pulling the sheer robe around her a little tighter. She walked to the door and pulled it open quickly. "Tiffany," Skeeter said as his eyes traveling from her face to the sheer robe she was wearing. "Skeeter what are you doing here?" she said, her heart sinking at the sight of her estranged husband. "I need to talk to you," he said. "This is not a good time Skeeter," she said starting to close the door. "I only need a minute Tiffany. I want to talk to you," he said pushing the door with his hand. "Skeeter I said this isn't a good time," she said as the elevator door opened and a deliveryman walked towards the door with a large white bag. "Tiffany Diamond," the deliveryman asked. "Yes. How much?" "Fifty six dollars charged to your account," the deliveryman said. "But for me tip...is hot outside" he added smiling as he glanced at her sheer robe. "You'll have to wait. I don't think I have anything but change," Tiffany said looking down at her hand and holding out the change for him to see. "Wait? I have other delivery to make," the man said frowning. "Could you come back later," she asked as she saw the deliveryman looking at her bare legs and feet. "No. No. How much do you have? Here take wine," he said handing her the bottle of wine and holding out his hand for the change. Tiffany heard the water in the bathroom down the hallway turn off. "Wine. You havin' a party Baby?" Skeeter asked looking past her into the living room of the apartment. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
