Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday August 15th 2002
Tiffany stood in the shower allowing the water to massage her body.  She thought she heard the phone ring.  She quickly turned off the water and listened.  She didn't hear anything. She realized that she was probably nervous. She stepped out of the tub and wrapped a towel around her.  She walked out of the bathroom to glance down the hallway towards her bedroom. She saw Amir in her bed still sleeping. Relieved that no one had called she put on a robe before walking towards the kitchen.  She knew Amir would be hungry after two hours of passion.  They couldn't dare go out to dinner; someone might see them together.  She would try to piece together something to feed her lover.  She opened the cabinet door hoping to find something she would know how to prepare.  Cooking wasn't her specialty and she knew a man like Amir Hada probably didn't know that tuna came in cans.  She closed the cabinet and thought that perhaps she would call and have something delivered. She walked to the phone on the bar and saw that the light on the answering machine was blinking.  She quickly hit the button and listened.
"Hi Tiffany, this is me," her young sister Starlene said.  "I don't know where you are?  Are you there? Well, I guess that maybe you and Amir went out or you're very busy catching up on everything," Starlene said giggling and clearing her throat.  "Anyway, I'm going over to Stanley's house to spend the night.  So enjoy yourself and the apartment.  Talk to you later," she said hanging up the phone.  Tiffany realized then that Amir probably didn't hear the phone ring since the volume on her phone in the bedroom was off.  She knew he was tired, he hadn't had much sleep since his wife was reported missing.  She picked up the phone and dialed the restaurant around the corner.
"I'd like to place an order," she said.
"Delivery?"
"Yes, please deliver two large house salads and a loaf of garlic bread. I'd also like a bottle of your nicest wine, red please."
"Anything else?"
"No. Charge it to Tiffany Diamond, you have the address."
"Be there in ten minutes," the man said recognizing her voice.
"Thanks," she said hanging up the phone and walking towards the bedroom.
"Tiffany. I fall asleep," Amir said rubbing his eyes as he watched her walk into the bedroom.
"Yes.  You must be exhausted from the last few days," she said taking a seat on the side of the bed and brushing his dark hair with her fingers.
"I feel better now that I see you," he said in his broken English.
"I wish we could always be here together like this," she said as her robe fell open in front revealing her freshly showered body.
"One day," he said as his fingers touched her neck and he pulled her closer to him.
"You have to get up now though. I ordered us something to eat," she said.
"When?"
"Just now.  It will be here in ten minutes," she said as he pulled her robe open in the front and gazed at her firm young body.
"Ten minutes. I never waste another minute when I am with you my love," he said gently pulling her closer.
"We only have ten minutes," she whispered smiling at him.
"You waste this time.  Come to me," he said pulling her close to him.
"But Amir," she said as she felt him pull the robe off her shoulders.
"We have now.  We have now," he said as their lips met.

"Tiffany Diamond in?" the man asked the doorman as he walked into the lobby of Tiffany's apartment building across from Washington Square Park.
