Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday August 5th 2002   
"Did you say that Amir called?" Tiffany asked the woman at the answering service. 
"Yes Mr. Hada called a few minutes after you called saying you'd be a few minutes late coming into the office."
"What did he say, it's very important," Tiffany said tapping her nails on her desk as she listened to the secretary that worked for their telephone answering service.
"He said to tell you not to call him that he would be tied up with people this morning.  He said he would call you later in the day," the woman said.
"Did he say where he would be?  Did he say anything else?"
"No. I'm afraid that's all.  There aren't any other messages. Are you in the office now or do you want me to continue picking up your calls?"
"I'm here.  You said Clark called and he said he'd call back?" Tiffany said realizing that her boss would be angry with her for being late coming into the office.  This was the first day since he'd left for Florida and his wedding.
"Yes."
"Thanks," Tiffany said hanging up the phone.  The other telephone line rang almost immediately. 
"Manhattan Party Planning," Tiffany answered.
"Tiffany.  Did you hear from Amir?" Starlene asked.
"Yes he called and said not to call him that he'll call me.  I don't understand what's going on," Tiffany said.
"I found out a little bit."
"What?"
"Stanley called me right after you left for the office."
"What did he say?"
"He called Amir's house this morning to talk to Amir about us going for a trip to his island.  Remember I told you Stanley said he'd take me on a cruise?"
"Yes. Yes….  What did Stanley find out?"
"He said he spoke to Amir briefly.  He said Amir told him the police were at his house and he'd have to call him back."
"What else?"
"Stanley asked him why the police were there and he said Amir sounded like he was going to cry."
"For God sake Starlene…what did Amir say?"
"That Malena is missing."
"Missing?"'
"Yes. When Amir came home last night she wasn't there."
"What else?"
"Stanley said that Amir couldn't talk too much because the police were there and the TV reporters had shown up outside his door.  But he said that he had called the police last night when he got home because she wasn't home."
"Oh God. What else?"
"That's all I know Tiffany.  Stanley was shocked.  He said he didn't think you'd see Amir again after his wife came home."
" I don't know what to do now."
"Amir will call you. Didn't you say his wife loves to go shopping?"
"Yeah."
"Well, maybe she just went shopping."
"Starlene the stores aren't open all night.  Amir and I were on the yacht until late last night."
"Maybe she found out that you and Amir were together on the yacht and she got upset."
"Oh that would be horrible if she found out I was with her husband."
"It will look much worse if she's missing and the reporters find out you were with her husband in the bedroom of his yacht," Starlene said.
