"What Amir?  What's the matter?" Tiffany asked as she watched the pain on her lover's face. 
"Malena. She never remember our marriage," he said in his broken English as he glanced out on the harbor of New York.  The yacht gently swayed as they cruised by Battery Park as the lights of the city glimmered on the water.
"But you showed her pictures of your wedding."
"Yes.  She see this.  It is as she look at picture in magazine.  She never remember," he said taking a sip of his wine and placing the glass on the coffee table in front of the sofa where they were seated.
"She was in a coma for a long time.  Do the doctors think she'll ever remember?"
"There is no way to know this.  She only remember her childhood on the island."
"How sad.  I'm sure you're disappointed."
"Yes.  I think that when she come to New York she likes this new life.  She recover and be happy."
"How much did you tell her about us?"
"She knows that I see you before she come here."
"Does she know that we were lovers?"
"She never ask this question."
"Well, did you tell her?"
"No."
"Does she think that you have been waiting for her to wake up all of this time?"
"She never think this way," he said glancing out at the lights of the city in Battery Park.
"I'm really sorry Amir. I know this is hard for you. It's been hard for me too."
"Your unhappiness is what I regret the most."
"I'll get over it in time."
"Time. Everyone think time answer all questions. Maybe time is now for happiness," he said putting his arm around her.
"I won't be your mistress," Tiffany said feeling weak all over as she felt his hand touch her bare shoulder.
"I hope one day you be more than this to me," he said gently brushing her long blonde hair to the side of her face and softly kissing her neck.
"Stop Amir.  We can't.  I agreed to only see you," she said afraid she wouldn't be able to resist.
"My life is empty without you Tiffany."
"You have Malena."
"But it is as skyline," he said pointing to the lights of the skyline of Battery Park.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean towers are gone.  But in my heart I never forget the sight.  Life goes on, but memory stay in my heart forever."
"But there will be new things.  New life."
"Life never be happy again without you, nothing new change this feeling."
"I don't know what you want to do. You said you only wanted to see me this one time and you agreed we would never have to meet in secret again.  What did you mean Amir?" she said as he pulled her closer to him.
"I mean I want you in my life forever Tiffany," he said as their lips met.
