Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday July 29th 2002 "Your trip was pleasant, no?" Amir said in his broken English as he watched Tiffany take a seat on the sofa on his yacht. "Yes. It was strange riding in your limo again after so long. I could tell your driver James remembered me, but he didn't say a word." She thought about how the limo driver used to pick her up and drive her to Amir's mansion almost everyday before Amir's wife came to New York to live. "Of course he remember such a beautiful face," Amir said handing her a glass of wine. "I was embarrassed for him to see me again," she said taking the glass of wine as he took a seat beside her. "Why you say this?" "Because your wife is here now living with you. He knows I was your lover before she came back. I know he must think we are having an affair," she said glancing out on the Hudson River as the yacht made it's way through the harbor. "He think nothing of this," Amir said admiring her long legs in the short skirt she was wearing. "Oh really. You mean you have other women on the yacht frequently?" she asked smiling. "No. He go now to drive Malena," he said referring to his wife. "He pay no attention to my… how you say…private life." "How is your private life Amir?" she asked looking into his eyes. "My heart ache for you. I miss you very much last few months," he said taking her hand and bringing it to his lips. He kissed her fingers lightly as he gazed into her blue eyes. "I've missed you too." "I hope you never stop thinking of me." "Never." "I hope you love me still," he said his eyes filled with fear. "Yes. I think the question is do you still love me?" "Yes my love, my feelings never change." "What did you tell your wife you were doing this evening?" she asked withdrawing her hand from his, unable to hide her resentment. "She goes out to shop." "Shopping? At night she goes shopping and leaves you alone?" "She is very unhappy woman." "Really? Why?" "She never remember much of our life together before her coma." "I thought she had made a full recovery?" "Her body recover but her memory of our marriage never come back to her." "Oh, I see. So you aren't happily married then?" "No. I am afraid this marriage is very unhappy." "I'm sorry Amir," Tiffany said feeling guilty that she had wished he wouldn't be happy without her in his life. "This is not your worry." "It does worry me though. I thought you were happy. I thought she had fully recovered from her coma and you were like newlyweds again. I mean that's the impression I got from the newspaper and television." "No. There has been no happiness. Malena never find happiness in New York. Maybe never with me." "Why Amir? Why do you say that?" "Before her coma she never live here. She know nothing of America. She remember nothing of our marriage. She only remember her childhood on the island." "But surely she finds you irresistible," Tiffany said feeling her body weaken as she looked into his eyes. "No. She never, how you say…." He said his voice trailing off in pain. "What?" she asked thinking she saw tears in his eyes. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
