"Come on Nicki, stay here with me and don't marry Clark", Skeeter said as he watched her hang up the phone.  He pulled her towards him brushing her dark hair from her face.
"No. Skeeter you have to go.  Clark said there's an accident on the bridge.  His limo is on the way over here now to pick me up," Nicole said checking her watch.
He reached for his shirt on the side of her bed and started to put it on as he watched her close her suitcase.
"So this is it huh?" he said thinking about the last few hours of intimacy they had shared.
"Only until next time," she said walking towards the window and glancing down at Bleecker Street below.
"When will I see you again Nicki?"
"I don't know. We'll get married on the yacht this weekend. Then we're going to Italy for a week on our honeymoon," she said picking up her purse and putting her makeup bag inside.
"Italy.  I guess you have more family there?"
"Yeah. Clark will meet them and then we'll probably come back to New York.  At least I hope so."
"You mean you don't know?" he asked buttoning his shirt.
"No, not really.  Daddy has a lot of say, you know. He's the one that's paying for everything.  As usual he's arranged it all," she said grimacing as she thought of spending so much time near her Father again.
"What about this apartment?  What are you going to do with it?"
"I'm keeping it. Daddy said he'd pay the rent," she said spraying perfume on her wrist before she glanced out of the window again.
"I forgot to bring the key to give it back to you," he said.
"That's okay.  Just keep it."
"Okay."
"I see the car.  Damn, what are we going to do now?" she asked as she glanced down at the curb and saw the long white limo pulling up in front of her apartment.
"Why don't I go down there and fight Clark for you," he said.
"Seriously Skeeter. You've got to get out of here."
"No. I am serious. Don't marry him Nicole.  You don't love him.  You love me.  A woman can't make love to a man like you just did then marry someone else," he said walking towards her and taking her into his arm.
"Skeeter move away from the window.  Clark might look up and see you," she said glancing through the apartment window and seeing the door to the limo open.
"Nicole.  I'll do whatever it takes to get you.  You can't marry Clark.  He's not the right man for you Baby.  It's me," Skeeter said pulling her towards him.
"Skeeter this is crazy. I'm getting married Sunday and you think you can stop the wedding now?"
The buzzer rang for the front door.
"Tell him you've changed your mind Nicki."
"Skeeter surely you're kidding."
"I've never been more serious in my life."
The buzzer rang again three times rapidly.
"Does he have a key to the door?" Skeeter asked as the buzzer rang again.
